CCM Tacks 972 Problems!

Hey guys, this is my first thread and post...been reading this board forever....love it..

I bought a pair of these CCM Tacks 972's in montreal, but i couldnt find any info on them online....

Been using them for about a year and they still kill my feet...i tried superfeet insoles and those did nothing to help..

ive tried doing searches about these skates and couldnt find anything...if anyone has them, can you please share your experience with them?

also, im thinking of swithching to Bauer Vapor XXV or Supreme ONE75....but the vapor toecap is poking my big toe....havent tried the one75's yet tho...

Can anyone give me advice about going from CCM to Bauer? ive worn CCM tacks my whole life....i play twice a week by the way..

the arch...lots of pain there....and also the toecap, my toes are always numb after a couple of shifts

Probably a depth issue. Put +pencil+test in the search and see if you pass that test.

...But the bottomline, sounds like the skates dont fit in general.

thanks for the reply, just checked that thread out, ill try out it and see if it works

im sick of searching for the perfect skate!!!

EDIT: Just did the pencil test, failed miserably, it all makes sense now....thanks for your help...

so is there any way to correct this lack of depth without buying a new pair of skates??

i have found the vapor series to be a fairly shallow fit, so just double check that with the pencil test before you decide on any boot.

it has been my experience that the supreme series fits deeper

Check out some CCM U+ skates - a lot of volume...

Vapor line is definitely shallow in my opinion - Supreme has more volume (I also failed pencil test on XXXX)

so in your case I'd try One75 before trying XXV

I tried on the ONE75's today and they are very uncomfartable for me....the XXV's are decent but i have arch pain when trying them on...maybe i have to get used to that considering im going from ccm to nbh? i also tried on some Easton S11's and they felt pretty good....

Anyone heard anything regarding the RBK 6k pumps? tried em on, they felt great, passed the pencil test too

If you're going to try a supreme boot don't even consider the one75, you have depth issues and you tried the shallowest of the offerings from NBH.
