Luke Schenn

Schenn has yet to play a regular season game for the Leafs. He is likely to get a nine game stint and then get sent back to Kelowna. All of the other top draft picks have signed, and will most likely stick with their teams. From most accounts he was the best looking non-lock on D for the Leafs in the preseason. I see no reason not to give him a shot.

I know about his likely hood of playing 9 games, hopefully we will see him play in 82 game season with the Leafs this year !

I'd much rather him go back to Kelowna and captain the World Junior team. The Leafs have a logjam on defense this year as it is, and he would only add to it. Plus I'd rather him have another year of restricted free agency when the Leafs are (hopefully) contenders.

You're right about it would help his development if he went back to Kelowna and was the captain for the rockets and team Canada. I would still like to see him in a leaf jersey then I would get to see him play live a few times and on tv a lot more.

And I pray that the leafs will be contenders very soon.

Either that's a pretty funny practical joke he's playing in the media, or Schenn is a loser.

Rookie defenceman Luke Schenn said he found a good way to celebrate signing his first pro contract.

"The first thing I bought was a ticket to Carrie Underwood," said Schenn, who signed a three-year entry-level contract Tuesday and saw the singer perform that night at the Air Canada Centre. "It was awesome. But I haven't really bought anything yet."

Uhhh.....what?

It's stuff like this that we used to make fun of Senators for doing, I think I'm going to be sick.

Why in the hell would you make fun of a guy for going to a concert? I'm not a country fan but it's not like he went to see a village people cover band and made a big deal about it. We're talking about a concert that probably came close to selling out the ACC, not a minor act. They guy has tastes that differ from yours, big deal.

I agree with Chadd. Why are you making fun of him for going to a concert, the ACC was probably sold out. Who really cares what kind of music he likes, everyone has a favourite type of music, I don't see why you're making such a big deal about it mrusse01. I am sure you have been to a concert that not everyone likes. I'll use a quote from one of my family members "Opinions are like ass holes, everyone has one"

If he had the skills to bang Carrie Underwood, he wouldn't have to actually buy a ticket to her concert. Case closed.

And why would I make fun of him for going to see that concert? Is that a legitimate question?

I keep forgetting you're the official arbiter of what's acceptable. His tastes are different than yours and you therefore feel some sort of compulsion to mock him for it. Hopefully it makes you feel superior and compensates in some small way for whatever issue you're struggling with.
