Recommended Posts

I have tryouts in literally a week, I play roller hockey and i'm wondering if anyone knows what kind of conditioning plan i may be able to get on and stick with? something not to time consuming but will still get the job done.. I knwo thats hard to come up with but... Help anyone?

I am 6 foot 210 pounds and play center..

You need to be willing to devot a lot of time in order to get conditioned. It's more than working out, it's eating right, getting the right amount of sleep, etc. Until you make that commitment to yourself...

Well, i'm aware of that.. But throughout the season if i make the team, i wanna be able to stay on what routine.. all i'm asking for is a couple suggestions, i'm not conditioning for tryouts.. i wanna do it throughout as well, i can handle tryouts how i am but if i want to improve in the long run, i need to get going.

See what i'm saying?

strap on the sneakers and run 3 miles today...right now. Do the same tomorrow, etc. At least you will be somewhat in aerobic shape in a week.

The only other thing that might give you some results in one week would be to use and agility ladder for 20 minutes a day.

And, no beer!

Definitely work on building up the cardio and your core strength, high levels of both of these are crucial throughout a season. Try to improve both of these in conjunction with maintaining a healthy diet and consistent exercise routine.
