Laraque for Lucic is a bad tradeoff. The coaches should discourage him from fighting goons. Was at the B's game in Calgary... the whole team didn't do much and it looked like one of their off nights. Too many giveaways from what I remember. Turning the puck over at the blue lines is death. I've watched plenty of games this year and most are HD NESN games on ExpressVU/CentreIce. Its been nice seeing a team with chemistry and more than just one line. Finally a fun team to watch.

I don't care about the 3rd unis as long as they aren't the "poo bear" ones from a few years ago.

Komisarek gets 20 minutes of ice time per game, laraque gets less than 8. Honestly, I would prefer seeing Lucic on the ice a little more and in the box a little less. I would think he can improve on the 13 points in 21 games if he cuts back on the PIMS. I'mnot saying he should stop fighting, but cutting back somewhat might be a good thing.

Even Bobby Orr fought when he first came into the league, maybe it is a Boston thing.

Note: no one should try and make this statement out like I'm saying Lucic can be compared to Orr.

But, like Orr, maybe Lucic will need to fight less as it becomes clear he is willing, able and ready.

It was a different league back then. Everyone had to fight when they hit the league to earn their respect and you usually took care of your own business.

As for Lucic, I like him fighting middleweight players, let Thornton fight the heavyweight goons.

Here is what Lucic said about the hit:

"I need to be a little bit more careful," Lucic said. "His numbers were showing and I did let up as much as I could. He did go forward, but there is no excuse for hitting guys in the back. I just need to be more careful next time."

The boys have a real test tonight.

...And the train kept-a-rollin'. Man, do they look great. I'm just hoping that injury bug stays the hell away from Causeway St. Krejci looks fantastic, Wheeler is panning out well... 24 goals scored in Fernandez' last 4 starts. After passing tonight's test, I'm assuming the grumblings start to turn to legit chatter in the hockey world.

Well, I just watched the Sharks/Yotes DVRed game and they mentioned the B's strong season to date. I don't think they'll be under anyone's radar anymore. I will say this, if it wasn't for Fernandez last night, the B's could have been down 4 - nil before the seats were warm.

One of the overlooked pieces lately has been Kobasew. Nice situation to have when a player like that can become an afterthought.

I totally agree. He was one of the first players last year to buy into Julien's system. The first half last year he showed he wasn't afraid to pay a price and go to the net. If he wasn't injured last year he could have made a difference in the playoffs.

It's getting tougher not to get excited about this team. It is amazing how well all the young guys are playing. Wheeler has looked amazing this year considering this is first season playing pro.

I would have bet big bucks that TB's goalie was going to give up a goal with a bad pass from behind the net. It nearly happened twice, but the B's players didn't quite intercept his passes cleanly.

Sometimes goalies who are good at handling the puck will over handle it, and it seems like Mike Smith fits into that category.

How pissed do you think Phoenix gets every time they see Wheeler play.

After years of not drafting well and a inability to bring free agents to town it's amazing to see what Chiarelli and co. have been able to do in only a few years.

No doubt. I know we're only a third into the season, but I think they are for real. Teams have played different number of games, so it's hard to make an exact comparison, but it's fair to say they are one of the best defensive teams and one of the best offensive teams.

I also like that they all claimed to have learned a lesson last night, yet they still were able to come away with two points.

I wholeheartedly agree. Much better than the Steve Kasper days when after each game we would hear "I thought they skated real hard".

The way that they finished the Tampa game, I think they are due for a hard loss in Washington tonight. As much as a bad win teaches a lesson, it is usually followed by a worse loss before the lesson really sinks in.

I expect Wheeler to be representing the B's at this year's YoungStars event.

Last time the bruins went on a 6 game win streak, they also played the caps, and got beat 10-2

However, the caps are really really hurting, so I don't expect a result like that tonight.

Wonder if there will be a brash/lucic matchup at some stage

Doubtful. The B's don't want Lucic fighting heavyweights. He'll leave Brashear for Thornton.

The way he goes through middleweights, it's the heavyweights are the ones who will start challenging him soon.

He's been a beast, and as much as I like the caps middleweights, I don't fancy Bradleys chances
