It's probably more likely from the slapshot he took on the ankle last week (I think in the first Flyers game).

What I think is happening is they no longer are flying under the radar. They are getting every team's best effort from the start of the game, and the B's aren't always matching that. Still, I think they've had a point in 9 straight games.

I'd like to see them to pick up a player with size who has enough skill to join the rotation for the playoffs, but only if they could keep the core group together. Otherwise, I feel good about their chances with the current roster.

There has been talk about Cole or Weight, but the Cole Talk came from KPD, so take that with a grain of salt. I think Weight would be a good pickup that could likely be had at a reasonable price.

I'd rather see Cole than Weight. He could be that speed on the left side that they've been missing since Sturm went down.

I like Cole a lot as well. Hopefully his injury problems are behind him. I love the game he plays.

Talk about failing a test last night. The Bergeron/Kobasew combination has been a bit of a flop as far as production goes and Krejci/Wheeler seem to need a fire lit under them. Wheeler especially has been guilty of more and more bad giveaways. It could be time for him to spend a night in the pressbox to remember where those places are.

Bergy hasn't looked good since he came back. I thought Kobasew looked great last night from what I saw, he was flying.

Flying yes, but not getting a whole lot out of it. I know Julien wants to have 3 pairs of offensive guys Savard/Kessel, Krejci/Wheeler, and Bergeron/Kobasew but I think it might be a good idea to give Kobasew a shot with Krejci. Another possibility is letting Sobotka have a shot in Ryder's spot and see if he can produce points at the NHL level.

Does anyone think they will make a move at the deadline? If so what is there most pressing need. A month ago I would have said depth on D but now I think some forward help to sure up 2nd & 3rd lines. Opinions?

Both goalies are UFA at the end of the year....they won't keep both. Thomas is due for a HUGE raise next contract. Would they trade Manny to get something for him and trust Rask as the backup in the playoffs?

I think they'll let Fernandez walk after the season or perhaps trade his rights before July 1 for some late, late draft pick or scrub prospect down some squad's depth chart.

I think last night's game is a bit of a cautionary tale for the playoffs. For the most part they outplayed the Panthers (except, perhaps, late in the second to halfway through the third), but Vokoun was sharp.

Makes you realize the same thing could easily happen in the playoffs, just as it did with J.S. Giguere against the Wings about five years ago.

I can't find anything about a deal involving Hunwick. The latest I know, he is playing left wing on the top line again tonight.

It was a joke in the globe this morning. When he arrived at the rink there was a black jersey in his stall. After a little stretching and cardio he returned to his locker finding a white jersey which meant he be a forward at practice.

They were out hit and out hustled tonight. I'm surprised the score was as close as it was. Thankfully Chara responded to Hartwell's hits from behind. Besides him I thought the flyers played a great physical game. And for the first time this year the Bruins couldn't or just didn't respond. Lucic would have helped but not sure things would have changed. After the trade deadline lets hope they can regroup and get to playing the hockey there capable of playing.

agreed they were just out hustled and hit tonight, but i think lucic's presence would have made a big difference, and is there any new info on trade talks i have got nothing on them making any moves

All I know is I do NOT want see Kessel traded for Pronger. Giving up a guy who should average 30 goals a year over the next 8-10 seasons does not seem worth the incremental improvement on the defense.
