.620 taper is Bauer's standard for Supreme shafts and blades, and Vapor shafts and blades except the XXX and XXXX.

Put a strip of tape on the tenon before gluing it, it should help.

thats what i think it is the xxxx blade. it's taped so i am not too sure. it's a malkin curve and the goalie even had to tell me to go easy in warm up. i like this combo. So is the .62 the balde size for all standard shafts? i have the easton ultralite 110 flex. i put lots of glue in it this time they seem to skimp on the glue these days. but i am not sure if the ultra lite is .62 or not

so then the 0.62 blade is the right fit then just not enough glue?

the shaft might have been blown out at the bottom, making it too big for the blade.

If you're using a XXXX blade that must be a hell of a lot of glue to get it to stay in there.

If it's the XVI then it's just a fit issue that some tape on the tenon will fix. Or, like Chadd said, you've blown out the shaft or opened the hole too wide from using it hot or something.

This is a tapered blade in a standard shaft. Notice you can put it in and angle it heavily, and it's not close to the same size.

This is a standard blade in a standard shaft. I could not insert it more than a few millimeters while the shaft was cold. Notice the blade tenon and the shaft are right about the same size? This is what you're looking for. You don't need a lot of glue, hardly any at all.

thanks for the pics... i just took the tape off it it's actually a vapor x. i haven't used it hot or anything i usually stick it right in the snow after heating it.

the blade slides in there tight but when it gets loose i can move it and feel the end of the blade hitting the shaft prolly .01" of play or less. but there was little to no glue on it i just put some hot glue on it and put it back in. So as for what you have told i am pretty sure i have a standard shaft and a standard blade then??

Sounds like they're both standard. Some companies make their blades or shafts slightly larger, and there's not a lot of control on them. I've had shafts that let blades slip in, and some that required a lot of sanding, heat and force to get them together.

Try putting a piece of tape over the top of the tenon, like this http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y279/rustpot/IMG_08871.jpg (over the top and down both sides)

It should snug the fit and not let the blade come loose. You may want to make the tape come down farther on the sides, and use half a strip in the opposite direction if it's still loose after you try it once. Don't tape the whole thing, the tape will stretch as you insert the blade and come down the sides more.

i do not really use two piece sticks, so I haven't really get the concept of standard and tapered? what's the difference?

because all I do is i just stuck the blade in the shaft for street hockey

thats a good tip. I wasn't sure what you meant abou the tap. thanks alot. I just took it out and it seems like a tight fit with just a little play when it slides half way in. it doesn't move when it's all the way. i think i just had a glue problem. the glue was all brown and just didn't seem like good glue. but ya i'll try it with it glued now and if it's still loose that tape will work for sure. Do you know where to get pro stock blades at all?? i am not really into the curves that are found at the sport checks or national sports. thanks again
