says the flex is 95 which is not what epuck said it was. they said it was 85. not that big a deal. it is very long though. to trim it, do i just use a hacksaw? probably need to trim about 5 inches or so. how will that affect the flex?

thats why i'm a little concerned. i originally wanted the R8 lite whip but it was out of stock. so when i was told this was 85, i figured no big deal. i currently use a easton z-bubble 100 and wanted to get something more flexible in a OPS. so does 5 inches make that much difference?

If it's 95 flex, it will end up closer to 110-115 flex. If it feels whippy now, you'll probably be fine, but if it feels great now, it will probably feel too stiff when cut down. Might be better off trying to trade for something else.

damn. i'm surprised that it would go up that high. its not like i use an abnormally short shaft either. this thing is long. i cant imagine many people not needing to cut it.

have not tried the stick yet mostly because i dont have a saw. i tried the flexing with my hand where it should be. flexes but not much more than my z-bubble 100. so, how much more flexible is an 85 or a whip? plus, i assume player weight has a lot to do with it also. i only weigh 160.

It has more to do with upper body strength than weight. The flex corresponds to the amount force it takes to deflect or bend the shaft one inch, so a 95 flex stick requires 95 pounds force to bend the shaft one inch...but technique and upper body strength play a bigger role than how much you weigh.

The general rule of thumb is your flex should be half your body weight. That being said i use a 67 flex cut about 2 inches and I only weigh 110 so it's all personal preference.
