NBH S9 Skates - what are they?

Recommended Posts

I've searched several times over the last couple of weeks, but "S9" is too short of a search term. If there's another thread that explains this, show me where it is, please.

What are the S9 skates that NBH makes? There are a couple of guys on the Coyotes that have them, and ebay shows there's a one90 and a one95 version and they're pretty cool-looking skates. Are they pro/custom only? Where do they fall in the NBH line as far as fit goes? I've never seen them in the catalog or in a store, and the first place I've heard of them is on this board.

8090's in one90 clothes. basically nbh wants people to see lots of one90s on the ice but not all pros want to wear real one90s so they give them these. not available at retail

They are pre-composite Bauers (Classics of some sort- 8090, 8000, 5000, etc) dressed up to look like the current supreme model. Recently the S9's have started showing up in the show looking like one95's- tha majority you see on ebay are dressed up as one90's.

The S9 can literally be anything- the pro wants x,y, or z and Bauer makes it look like the current top end retail model.

I'm just wondering why if they wanted one90's to be seen (which they undoubtedly did, same with one95s now and X:60's being dressed up as XXXXs so that buyers aren't tempted to wait for them...), why put S9 on them instead of just the one90 logo on it?

bauer wants to showcase their latest and greatest technology, 8090's are 5-6 years old but thats what some pros prefer. we've been over this way to many times. 8090=S9

Right, but I was just wondering why they brand it S9 instead of one90.

S9 is the pro model. They can choose One95, XXXX, Flexlite or S9 as their skate preference (and more I'm sure). It's a different skate that follows the same styling as the Supreme line (as it is a Supreme skate) same as the Supreme Enforcer and all of those, it's just built with more traditional materials instead of Texallium or whatever the One90/One95 are using.

So it's an independant model of the Supreme lineup that is only offered at pro (and Europe by special order I think) and is branded with its model name.
