dolomite spyne

Well, on paper the idea seems good in that it is supposed to reduce blade torque and inno/warrior shafts suck at torquing but in practice, the ppl I know who use it seem to hate it.

Seeing as how most of the torque comes from the shaft and taper, I can only see it making the blade stiffer and not doing much for shaft torque unless the Spyne goes up the shaft. I'm pretty sure that's why Easton, Reebok, CCM and Mission focused their geometry innovations in the taper area.

Yes, but not nearly as much.

Watch that video, you can see how most of the torque is coming at the heel of the blade as the shaft twists. The Spyne is concentrated at the TOE of the blade.
Skip to about 7:00 and start watching this one, good slow-mo shot. You can tell the puck isn't rolled, but the middle and toe of the blade aren't affected much.

I just fail to see the huge advantage, especially given the very inconsistent blade profile on the backhand, It seems backhand shots and just taping the blade would get screwed up at one point or another.

Just wondering, I just picked up a Spyne today $199 CDN. Planning on using it friday. How is the durability. Would you say this one or the Easton S17 has a better durability? I can get them for the same price, so whichever you all think has better durability I'd go with. I just can't return the Spyne for a money back/trade in if I use it.

I can almost bet the farm that the Dolo will last much longer than the S17 will. I know mine did.
