In need of new skates

Recommended Posts

I've had Mission Fuel 75s for a year and a half and they're dead.

The boot is falling apart and the holders are giving up, it's time for some new skates.

My foot is wide in all dimensions and I wear a 13 shoe. I tried on some older Bauer Supremes and the 11.5 EEs fit perfectly, the missions are 13 EEs and they fit perfectly.

I need light fast skates, I've been looking at the XXVs, One75s, and One90s even though I've never tried them on and I can't because my local shop doesn't have them, but I guess I can get them to order them.

Soo, which one? (I'm open to other suggestions)

Thanks :P

Your LHS doesnt have XXV's, or one75s? Or just the one90s? Go in and try them on. Only way to do things.

I've got the Vapor XXXX's and know other friends of mine have bought the "lower end" versions. I know the XXXX's are a bit expensive, but I've had them for over a year and they are still in really good shape- and the friends of mine who bought the XXVs like them a lot as well.

FWIW: In my XXXX's, I wear a 9.5 EE. I wear a shoe size of 12W, normally.

I sure do love the look of the One95's though. :P

They do, but not in my size, so I would need to get them to order a pair from their warehouse or NBH directly.

I'll just go try some stuff on I guess.

With the Fuel 75's you basically got what you paid for, hence not a lot of durability. All the skates your looking at now should outlast the Fuels. Like the previous posters have said see if you can get in to fit the skates your interested in. Pick the one that seems to fit the best and go with it. As said numerous times before, fit is everything when it comes to skates. You can't go to wrong with the Nike/Bauer skates you decribed. You might also want to consider some skates higher up the line in the Mission skates like the Fuel 100,110 or 120 as well. If you found the fit in the 75's alright,it might save you a few dollars because Mission's high end skates are usually a bit cheaper monitarily and give you more durability than their lower end models.

I will say if you dig the one75 go for it. I went from se16's,9ks, and xxxx all in one season and I kept going back to my one75s. The most bang for your buck by far. I even bought a 2nd pair because these are getting a tad soft but they lasted me a year of 4 times a week use non stop. I even sold the xxxx on ebay after a few uses just to go back to the 75s. If i had the money id get 95s

Can't be a lot wrong with the 75's ir 95's because a lot of pro players as well as minor league players are wearing them. Nike/Bauer again dominating the world market with skates. They seem to have the boot that fits the most cross section of hockey players comfortably. As much as I love my Grafs, I'm still rocking in my Vapor XXII's now and then. Always loved the Bauer on ice feel but now their fit is as good as any on the market.

I have a pair of One75 skates and they are an amazing pair of skates, they are comfortable light and protective and provide a lot of support.

it bothers me when people say this. your skates add up to much more than 95's. you do have the money you just dont think you do. same with me.

my next pair will be 95's for sure as i feel the 75's have gone soft after 5 months of 5-6 times a week use
