Kills your palms as in causing pain to your hand? Or tearing up your gloves?

If you mean pain then I'd say try a smaller (in height) knob which is less pronounced, more of a ramped up shape.

If you mean tearing up your palms, then try to make the knob less square. When building the knob try to overlap each time around slightly and as you gain thickness overlap slightly less each time, then the top layer can be with a slightly thicker piece of tape to cover it all... when it's done the "edge" part will be more rounded and may not dig in to the leather on the gloves as much.(not sure if that made sense, sort of hard to explain... that's how I do mine but I do it using 1/3'rd the width of the tape roll, then I do the top wrap w/ a wrap or two of the 2/3 thickness, it gives it a nice clean finished product).

Just picked up a Tacki Mac on the way home from work. After ignoring JR on my first three, I actually listened to him this time and used the included tape. It's a million times easier. I'll follow up when I use it in a game. It's kind of thick and the knob is a little short...but maybe I'll love it.

i skate 6 or 7 days a week and I have MSH2 palms and they're shreading quickly, I'm thinking about going tacki-mac but it is kinda too thick for my hands, also does clear or electrical tape make it slippery with gloves on or no?

First game with the Tacki Mac...

The "taped" portion was thicker than normal and the "knob" portion was thinner than normal, but it was less noticeable with gloves.

In warmups, it felt like my blade was cracked or something strange. That went away. Shots were actually a bit harder and more accurate. Maybe it was preventing my top hand from slipping? It was definitely noticeable.

Didn't drop the stick at all and felt like my shots and long passes were better. It felt more solid and gave me more confidence.

I broke out of a long slump, had a goal and two assists and drew a penalty. I have no clue if it was related to the grip or not, but of course I'm going to have to keep it on now.
