Kuzak Team Chassis?

Recommended Posts

Anyone use this chassis? I'm looking for a simple chassis to mount to my favorite Bauer boots and was wondering how this one would fit the bill. Any help or opinions would be appreciated. I was looking for a Hummer but I need a medium and I can't seem to find any in that size.

I will tell you that if you are used to ice I would recommend the sprung chasis.

While these are fine for dinking around, I didnt like the straight chasis at speed and skating backwards. I was on my heels and felt unbalanced. The sprungs have a more ice like feel to them. Not perfect, but much more consistent with ice.. I skate faster turn much sharper and transition from forwards to backwards much more comfortably than I did with these kuzak.

They are not a bad chasis infact they are very sturdy and tough. They are just a flat chasis so they skate more like an old school ccm boot I guess you would say. very nuetral.

I ordered a set to mount to a pair of Bauer boots. The seem pretty nice. I'm having them mounted now and I'll post my thoughts after this is done. If I don't like this combo would the Mission Vanguard chassis put me in a more forward position?

but a little on the heavy side

When you say they're heavy how much heavier do you think they are than the lightest pair on the market? I mean, do you think it is alot or are we talking about 50-100grams?

I will tke some close up pics.

The proshop guy at rolling ice said they could be rockered. Basically the opening in the chasis to hold the axle for the rear and front wheels are triangular. The pacer you use is not in the middle but near one of the points. By changing the position of the triangles I believe you can give it a slight rocker.

Even doing this I found this chasis very nuetral. I was on my heels and just felt uncomfortable. Having learned to skate ice this was to be expected. I found myself really leaning forward to feel comfortable. I haveswitched over to the sprungs as they just feel right. I leant/gave my kuzak skates to a buddy, but have a spare frame I will try to snap some photos of to show you more clearly. The chasis isnt that heavy at all.

The reason I'm asking is that I just had a few of these shipped to me (couldnt beat the price), and I'm going to put them on the skates that I use in my hometown which has a really abrasive surface (no way am I goign to use my sprungs there).

also, from the hockeygiant pics, it looks like the chassis cant be rockered, and only the Kuzak pro chassis has that triangular option.

I like these chassis but I've only used them once since having them mounted and it is difficult to make an accurate assessment because the wheels I was trying to use were way to hard for the sport court surface that I was playing on but the sure seem like a steal for $6.99. I'll give updated impressions once I have a chance to use them more. As for rockering, I don't think it can be done with these chassis except by just using different size wheels.

i used these for the first time the other night and had soft wheels on them, at first they were a little tough to get used to but after about 25 mins of skating on them i was fine. they were def worth the 7 bucks i paid for them and i would second this tought about rockering the wheels.

basically just using a smaller wheel in the front and rear of the skate... maybe using a 74mm wheel in front and back, while the centre two are 76mm..
