Most comparable Bauer curve...

Recommended Posts

What is Bauer's most comparable curve to the Coffey or Yzerman curve? I recently tried both and was really impressed, but I usually prefer NBH sticks, specifically the vapor line.

There's nothing retail that is going to come very close to a Coffey or Yzerman. You may be able to get a little closer with the iD program, if you want to go custom. But you still aren't going to get a perfect match.

For what its worth a guy on my team swears by the Coffey and he was checking out my P88- Lindros's the other day and was a fan, start there maybe?

The P88 Lindros composite is turning into huge curve. I couldn't believe it when I saw that blade at the pro shop.

may I sidetrack a bit....

I have been thinking to try a Bauer stick but can't decide on PM9 or P88. Which one will be better for back hand?

The biggest difference will be the huge rocker on the bottom of the Lindros. The Yzerman and Coffey are both much flatter on the bottom as well as thicker from top to bottom.

Practice is best for your backhand, but it will most likely be easier with the PM9.

Yes, that's my biggest concern between the two. I guess I'll have to look at it, but from online it seems a little flimsy in comparison and also like you said, different rocker.

The P88 is a pretty solid curve. It is bigger and rockered at the heel, but it's probably the closest curve you'll find in retail to the Coffey.

The P14 is a pretty big toe curve. It seems like 3/4" and wide open. Pretty ugly IMO, but I like a flatter blade.
