Super Feet!?

Recommended Posts

to they take extra space in the boot compared to the stock insoles? like if you would wear a pair in size 7 and put superfeet in them, would you then need to get a custom 7,25 to fit like before?

sry if I wasn't clear enough, I know you can trim them, but I'm concerned about the thickness of the insole with it's plastic insert and foam front. in a nuttshell if a 7,5 is a little to big and the 7 is to small, for example, would the superfeet get the skate to fit just right? that's what I meant with taking extra space in the boot

Superfeet do use up some volume. A bigger size is rarely the correct answer. If you are right on the edge in terms of depth in a skate, super feet could put you over the top.

If that is the case, you need a deeper skate, NOT a longer skate.

thanks man, my problem is that an 8 is to small for me and an 8,5 is just a little to long so I was wondering if superfeet would help with taking just a litlle from the lenght of the skate

So for you flat feet guys, how'd superfeet work out for you? And also which pair did you use? (I'm not sure if I should use the black which are intended for flat feet, or if I should use yellow, which are made for skates.)

I've got fat, flat feet, and superfeet actually increased my discomfort. I stuck with them for a couple weeks, hoping they'd get better, but they never did improve. Although I don't particularly like my experience with my new Grafs, the Sidas insoles were a much better match for my dogs - a little less rigid, but supportive enough.

Do they help witht hat 'no blood' feeling?

I always feel like i have no blood in my feet after about 45 mins - even when they aren't that tight

They did help with the no blood feeling for me. I used to have to loosen my skates during warm-ups and let my feet relax. But since I started using Super Feet I haven’t had to do that. As for the size questions, I bought the size that matched my shoe size. I didn’t have to cut them, they fit my skate perfectly. But that’s just my personal experience.

Generally speaking flat footed men (who are one of the targets of super feet insoles) have arches that correspond with a size one step up from their foot's length measurement. If you think about it, it makes sense.

Hi guys

Does any one know if ShockDoctor insoles are thicker than the standard Graf (not Sidas),or maybe Sof Sole?

Just got some F60's and want to take out a bit of volume.

Just picked up some Superfeet today. I noticed the forefoot area on the Superfeet is slightly thinner than the stock insole from my CCM Externo 60s. I was hoping it would be thicker to take up some volume in the forefoot area. Can you use a half insole(like a cheap Dr scholls) under the Superfeet?

Superfeet does not recommend using any other insole product along with the superfeet insole. Go right ahead and try it if you think it works for you though.

I just ordered some Sof Sol Custom insoles the other day, mainly for the thicker forefoot area. The shock doctor footbeds are also fairly thick in this area as well, I'll let you know which one is thicker once they come in.

Hey, so i just picked up a pair of x60's (7D) and i like the footbed that they come with, but i was wondering how much better superfeet actually is than the stock bauer ones. And also when i went to my lhs, they have the grey in size c which is like sizes 5.5-7, but even at that's largest point which should be a size seven, they were sliding a bit in the skates. Is this normal or should i get size d and cut them down? I haven't baked the skates yet will that make a difference?

Thanks

robdog - You need a bigger size. Match up size D or E with your foot. Stand on them and see where your arch matches up. Get the one that matches best and then follow the instructions to trace & then trim the excess in the forefoot area.

Stand on them and...

...check to see that the heel is properly supported, as seen in this picture:

Fig.C-D.gif

Don't look at the size on the box; pick the size that cups the foot properly.

I think it's like everything else with skate fit, you just have to try it and see what suits you best. I will say that I recently tried a number of foot insoles, including the graf /sidas custom ones, and the insole I like best for me is the superfeet black. It has a lower heel than the yellow, and I don't like heel lift. The black gives me better arch support than the shock doctors. I also like the superfeet because they do take up some volume in the skate, which is what I need also. Superfeet really markets the yellow for hockey skates, but say that the black will also fit some skates. I have the bauer vapor 60's and the black fits perfectly. Also, I'd get the size that fits your regular shoe size and then trim it to fit the skate; it's very easy. If you get a smaller size insole, I don't think the arch really lines up correctly.

you do NOT get the size that fits your shoe size or skate size, you get the size that fits your heel. if they happen to fit your shoe or skate also, thats fine, but its not about the length at all

The superfeet instructions say to (1) select the size cloeset to your (shoe) size; (2) if the size is too short, go up one size, and (3) check the heel width; if the width is too small, go up one size....

well of course, you need to start somewhere, but there are people who go up 2 or 3 or more sizes to compensate for their heel width. length is the last thing you should be concerned with
