Tour Skates. New?

Recommended Posts

The Tabu's looks a lot like the Code Carbons in shape. I hope they end up being cut more like the Code 1s/Beemers. I did not like the code 1's because I could not get any forward flex on them the way I could on the older Tour Skates.

Also I agree with the above post about changing the tongues. The most recent tour tongues are horrible. Thin, no padding, thick plastic insert which destroys all forward flex.... Why cant they just go back to good old thick felt, thats what everyone likes best anyway even if it weighs a bit more.

Interesting, I love the tongue featured on the Carbon’s and Q’s. I find it to be one of the best parts of their recent models. However, I have not had any problems with the tongues sliding to the side. They flex forward for me, it just takes some time to break in like the rest of the skate. I just like it because the Carbon’s and Q’s are the first skates in a long time that I have not gotten lace bite from because of the pad in them.

I probably just did not give them enough time to break in. I had to lace them down an eyelet just to flex forward enough but I am only 152lbs so that could be part of it. I ended up swapping the tongues for old 652 felt tongues which took care of the problem :P

I just recieved my pair of Carbon pro's yesterday. I really like the boot, its flashy but not over the top. Im going to swap the shadow chassis out with my hummers from my old code 1's. I just prefere the one piece axles. In my opinion you cant beat the skate for the price. Im finally going to get to skate on them tonight.

PS: A bit off topic but has anyone tried the addictions yet? reviews?

I recieved a set last week, still havent gotten to use them yet. Hopefully within the next week or so i can let you know.

One of my kids has the new carbon pro's and really likes them. He's picky about how his skates feel and he liked them right away. It seems to be a good stiff skate for a kid and the breakin period is minimal. I like the way the look too. Especially when I compare them to other inline skates out there.

As for the cheap wheels, I don't mind them. First of all, I think Lebeda makes the best low end wheel, with the grippers and milleniums. I would rather have a decent low end wheel on there to help keep the purchase price down, than to have an expensive crappy wheel that I would rather not pay for. They all get replaced anyway. Put the money in the boot and chassis.

Yeah I just moved from a 2008 mission boss to a 2009 Tour Cobalt Q. I couldn't be happier. Most comfortable skate that I've ever put on my foot, and it's holding up really well. Great skates. +1 on tour!

What is this "tabu"? Is that a new skate? Haven't heard anything
