Elbow pads for short forearms?

Recommended Posts

i've been looking for elbow pads lately and need something for my stubby forearms. i absolutely hate it when the elbow pad is a bit long and rubs on the cuff of my glove...which is why i looked for as short a glove as i could find.

most i've tried on that seem to fit right in length tend to be a bit tight in girth, not saying i have big, muscular arms as i surely don't, but they ain't exactly string beans either.

having tried on several pairs from several different manufacturers, i seem to fit somewhere between a med and small for girth, but definitely small-jr. large for length.

can anyone recommend pads that tend run wide and short? don't really care if i have to go to a jr. size...i'd actually prefer it as i'd save some cash. any help or tips would be appreciated.

Check out the CCM Vector line. I've been wearing the V08 elbows since last summer and love them. They're pretty short from the elbow down and have a real nice feel and fit.

If your LHS has the Mission Fuel line in stock, I'd check them out. They're on the wider side as far as EPs go, but they might be alright for length.

and +1 on the CCM Vector stuff, too.

Or get a pair that are comfortable and cut them and have them sewn closed again.

I have the bauer one90's and I cut almost 2 inches off the forearm pad and sewed it closed.

+1 on the Vector line.

I wear the V4's and a 14" glove (which is big for my hand) and have more then enough room in between to slash guard and the cuff. Their pretty comfortable too.
