baking a mission S 300........

Recommended Posts

...there was a new girl in one of the teams I play last week .....she wore her mission S 300 very loose ...telling me they become very uncomfortable and she gets sore feet as she ties them tighter ..... I found out that the shop she bought them from never baked them nor told her it would / should be possible .......

..what is the correct procedure to do so and what temperature ????

..and is the mission FLY a skate that can be baked , too ???

....thx again , chris

I'm not positive but I'm sure that pretty much any mid-high level skate produced in the last six or so years could probably be baked, and I know that anything made primarily of leather will bake up just fine. I would so with a lower time, I think someone on this board was trying to put together bake times for all skates, its around somewhere.

Skate oven's are generally around 200 degrees F but the are also not the same as your regular oven. My best advice would be to use a heat gun and heat up the inside of the boot on the lowest setting until the inside of the boot is decently warm to the touch but not too hot.

not the same as your regular oven.

If you have a regular oven your skates will melt. Convection ovens (ovens with fans to move the hot air) are used for baking skates, but your best bet is still your LHS. Why risk it?

Yeah, it is still a very common name around here. Most of the company has moved out of town now and its obviously not upjohn anymore.
