Girdle sizing

Recommended Posts

none of LHS' around me has any hockey girdles - apparently they don't sell that wel

I'd like to get the new One95 Girdle (seems to be similar to One90 girdle & just a continuation of Cooperals) when it comes out on April 10th, but since I can't try it on locally considering I have 34"waist & thick legs could someone please advise what size should I buy?

Bausr M is 32-34

Bauer L is 34-36

I'm right on the border of 2 sizes, and am considering Medium because there's less weight in it...

Thanks!

Order both sizes and send one back?

Girdles are pretty tricky with the sizes, you want it snug but not too snug where you're afraid of ripping it while pulling it on. I wouldn't worry about the weight difference between the two, these new girdles are so much lighter than the old ones so it's going to be so light and mobile that a few extra ounces isn't going to be noticeable at all.

Large goes upto a 42"? I would never see myself wearing something which is a Large  Why is the sizings so far apart?

sorry - that was a typo on my part - large is 34-36"

ordering 2 pairs & sending one back is a pain in the rear :(

the challenge is that I'm comfortable M in lower models bauer pants (up to one70), but One90 due to extra padding I have to go with L

having that said I assumed girdles have a lot less padding & so M is probably a way to go, it's just since I never had a chance to try it on I'm not sure if it's going to work

case to point - XXX Lite pants - I had to go up to XL in these because of how snug they are!

Try the Sports Exchange on Burrard. A while back I saw a pair of Bauer MDP8 or whatever they're called in store.

I probably wasn't too clear with my original question - hence lack or responses

could someone please who switched from a pant to a girdle (preferably bauers supreme line) tell me what model/size pant you went from into what model/size girdle?

I used to wear a pair of Nike Quest Men's small picked up in 2003, and I switched to a Vapour XXXX Men's small girdle last fall. My waist went from a 33 to 31 in the last five years but I found the Vapour to be a little tighter around the stomach; the waist size was fine. The only strange thing is that I preferred the medium shell instead of the small one; if I recall correctly, the small shell seemed a little short.

Hope that helps.

Get the smaller, it is lycra.

You don't want to swim around in a girdle. Plus it's a wrap girdle - can be adjusted for thick quads.

thanks JR - appreciate the feedback!

so when they say NBH medium goes up to 34" waist it is indeed the case correct?

and what about the shell then - get L just to be on the safe side (since it's not as stretchable) or still M?

I was a 34" waist when I started playing hockey in college around the year 1999. I have always worn girdles and started out with a size medium. Unfortunately I put on weight and I'm now up to 36" and wear a size large girdle. For shells, I still wear a size medium. I find that with a large shell my size large girdle is swimming in them. Here's a history of girdles I've worn: Mission ???, CCM Pro Tacks, Franklin 9505, and Bauer MBP.
