Healthy_Scratch_15 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2009 I'm thinking about making the big jump from pants to girdles. I want more mobility so I can get full stride extension. I have to skate low to the ice to be effective. My old Tackla 9000's are on their last legs. What are the best brands of girdles? Right now the leading choices are Bauer and Easton. Those seem to be the only good ones out there. And I've never been a huge of Easton. Any tips would help. Any tips on pants would help too, but I'm strongly leaning toward a girdle (I wish they had a different name. One that isn't synonimous with a garment designed for obese middle-age women.), but I may stick to pants if I find the right ones. How are the high end Easton stealth pants? How are the high end Easton stealth pants? You can call them "core pads" if you want. I've got an easton st-10 girdle that I like OK (very protective, but the stitching is a little flimsy). I really like the way the Vapor XXXX girdle looks though.
Joker518 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2009 The new Eagle girdle looks solid. The Vapor XXXX Core-Pads are a solid option if you want something between a girdle and pants.
s4gobabygo 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2009 i'm using a CCM pro girdle. it's very minimalistic, so if you're looking for tons of protection, look elsewhere, but as far as range of motion, i can barely tell it's there. very free-fitting. it has just about as much frontal/leg protection as any girdle i've used, but there are others with better high-hip and lower-back protection. the CCM is just too lightweight and comfortable for me to give up, though. CH_Hockey12 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2009 The ST-15 Motion Girdle/Pant Combo looks pretty cool, I was looking at it in my store. There very light and seem like they woul be very mobile. They also eliminate the need of a cup/velcro shorts because they have built in cup pocket and velcro. Plus they look very nice, they have a streamlined, slim look.I am currently using a Mission L7 Pure Girdle/Pant Combo. I like the concept of the 2 piece, but i dont like the pant very much itself. Too bulky, too heavy, just not a good pant.
xstartxtodayx 343 Report post Posted March 12, 2009 I used an old Bauer since 98/99 and just recently picked up an Easton Synergy girdle. So far I'm impressed with the padding in the Synergy as well as the mobility, but as someone mentioned already, the stitching and material seems thin and cheap so I'm not sure this one is going to last anywhere near as long as the Bauer (which is still fine, I just wanted something new). I was torn between the Supreme One90 girdle and the Easton, basically I picked up the Easton b/c it was easier to find in my size and it was on sale for 20% off. If I had to do it again I think I may have gone with the Supreme One90.
