RetiredTender 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2009 I have used wood blades for the most part since I really like the puck feel you get with wood, but I go through blades so quickly and I am on a limited college student budget... I know you can get the wood blades for cheap, but I am looking to test out a composite blade.Does anyone have any recommendations/suggestions for a good composite blade? I have pro-stock Mission Hex-1 shafts that are standard (not tapered). Sher-Wood RM-7, NBH Vapor XVI, Warrior Johnson, CCM V08, Easton Synergy ST, and Easton Synergy SC were some I was looking at. Anyone have any input? Or does paying the extra for a top end blade make a difference? Thanks.
interpathway 9 Report post Posted March 24, 2009 If you want pure performance, I'm a big advocate of the Mission Pro-Stock blades on Hockey Monkey. Not sure if they're still available though. For pure strength and durability (although some will contest I am sure) I would highly recommend the Warrior Dolomite 2 blades. They're 60 bucks per, but mine lasted me at least two months of 4-6 days per week on the ice.edit: I'd advise against any Sher-Wood composite blades, they just can't seem to get it right IMO. stuie7 6 Report post Posted March 24, 2009 Out your list I'd got for the Synergy ST blades. With regard to standard blades, I'd have a look at the Warrior AK27 or either the One90 blades, which you can probably get a decent deal on now.
RetiredTender 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2009 Thanks guys, I am thinking I may give the Ak27 a shot and see how it goes.
SpartanHOCKEY12 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2009 I disagree with the comment about Sher-Wood, i love my wood Sher-Wood 950 tapered in Spezza, but i dont want wood so id say go along with the Sher-Wood just cuz i really like some of there curves and ive had luck with my RM9, but my favorite composite ive had is probaably my synergy elite, sorry to add another to the list, but at $35 i love em, and its lasted 3/4 of my highschool schedule

Jarick 5 Report post Posted March 25, 2009 ST's lasted a really long time for me, as did Warrior blades.
