skate dilemma (mission)

Recommended Posts

i'm thinking about getting new skates and i've narrowed it down to a few:

mission boss 2008 $340 usd @ hockeymonster.net

Mission Proto VSi Team Senior Inline Hockey Skates - 2009 $300 usd @ hockeygiant.com

or should i just spring for the

Mission wicked lights for 400 usd @ hockeygiant.com

i seem to have missed the earlier discount codes so i guess i'm out of luck

i am size 12, other sites with a cheaper mission boss (2008) didn't have my size

The Mission boss is pretty good, especially with the Mag Chassis... the chassis that come with the VSI or the Wicked Light are alu if I'm not wrong.

Get the Wicked Light Classics, hands down a legend of a skate. You won't see that Mission Boss skate get a re-release years from now.

Sure the Classics have an aluminium chassis, however you won't notice that much of a difference.

I know where my money is going to be spent, I had them when they were first released and to this day it's still amazing

I've got the bosses and I love them. The break in time was quick, I baked them twice and skated on them 3x in the first week and they were money. Can't say anything about the wicked lights, but I did own a pair of the vsi's back in the day and loved them, minus breaking them in.

Are you a size 12EE? If you are, it appears HockeyMonkey.com has the Mission Boss Inline Hockey Skates on clearance for $319.98 USD.

i picked up the vsi's from hockeygiant a couple weeks ago, i like the boot a lot since its just like the old missions but the chassis is really thick and kinda heavy, its definitely heavier than the normal 7000 series aluminum vanguard, with that being said i still love the skates and they are lighter than the rbk6ks i was using

The wicked light is a classic and should last a long time. That is what I would go with personally even though it's a big heavier with the aluminum frame.

If you're interested in the Mission skates you should go to ePuck.com. They have a 10% discount on the Wicked Lights and the VSi's...

I have the Boss skates right now and there not a bad overall skate, but the wheels you get with them arent very good and even after getting them baked, the inside part of the skate irritates my ankles a lot.

the wheels you get with the boss skates aren't very good?!?! What surface do you play on and how much do you weigh?
