Warrior Super Mac Daddy & Bauer x 40's

Recommended Posts

I am looking at the warrior super mac daddy's on hockeymonkey, I know that you can't purchase them in the red white and blue that I requested before however, They are on sale for a very reasonable price and I can get them in royal blue. I was just wondering what the difference would be between them and the franchise gloves, and would it be difficult to switch to them from the 6K's ?

Also I noticed that Bauer now has their X series out.. I was looking at ordering the X-40 skates, is it worth it to pay the $300+ for the skates ? if not then what could be comparable skates ?

dont buy x40's dish out the 50$ more for the vapor xxxx.

does anyone care to elaborate on this comment ? If the x-40's are newer wouldn't you expect them to be the better skate ?

I actually sat down and tried on Supreme One55s, Vapor XXVs, Vapor XXXXs and Vapor x:40s all back-to-back and I preferred the support and comfort of the x:40 to any of the others, so that's what I ended up buying. I can't speak to durability, but it's a ridiculously comfortable skate.

Yes the X-40 is a newer skate but it's a lower end skate than the Vapor XXXX. The Vapor XXXX would be comparible to the X-60 so tony1233 is giving you some good advice. He's saying you can get a top of the line skate of last years model, for only fifty dollars more. It's worth considering.

Yeah, the XXXXs are a steal at ~350-400, but they fit slightly differently than the x:(40-60) which felt like they had a slightly deeper upper to me.

Thanks, I didn't know that they were a "lower-end" skate. I just figured that the X line would all be top of the line skates, like the x-40 take the place of the XXXX's and the x-50 and x-60 would be their new skates. So this is partially my fault for not reading up on it. So for a guy that officiates hockey and plays so I average about 15-20 hours on the ice a week if we don't have ANY games, would you recommend the xxxx's over the x-40 ?
