KHL Expansion

Recommended Posts

With regard to the interesting article on TSN: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=277645p

Just wonder if the Swedes (or other Euros with potential future KHL teams) on this board see this proposed expansion of the KHL into Sweden as a good thing or a bad thing.

Not really interested in the KHL owner buying an NHL franchise because im sceptical that will happen, but feel free to discuss that as well :P

I support the KHL and everything. It has some great players in there with guys like Morozov, Radulov, Zionviev, etc.. But I don't support it expanding, unless it's just to former Soviet countries or like China or something. Why? I think that the SEL is its own league and it should remain that way, I just don't think one giant European league is a great idea because of all the talent that would be lost due to teams being lost to create one league

I believe there will be a Euro super league that has teams from various countries and I've been saying that for years. It looks like the KHL is going to try and be that league. Personally, I think it should be a smaller league than what they're going to have but as long as they're willing to cover the losses it should be interesting.

Zinovjev.

They could create a super league, it would mean that some of the national elite leagues might lose some of their top talent.
