Miken sticks

Any further thoughts on the Miken sticks? Seems like a few people here were "thinking" about trying one. And the reviews in this thread so far are mixed, to say the least.

I sold a couple of my earlier sticks adventures, and was thinking about trying a low flex MV-3 or Vapor X50 next.

Have had a couple MV3 Pros and they seem to be nice sticks. Both were 85 flex, patter 12 (iginla). Broke one at the mid point of the shaft and the other is still going strong after several months of frequent use.

Maybe just me getting used to the feel but the stick didn't feel as stiff as I expected. Next one I get will be 95 or 100 flex.

Finish on the stick is nice. Its a grip finish but less aggresive than some. Nice puck feel in the stick too. Stick is very responsive overall.

The new MV5 is the same shape as the old MV3 Pro (bigger and boxier). The other, radial version, is smaller and more rounded corners from what I saw at Total Hockey.

Tried buying an MV5 Radial a couple times now but they seem to have discontinued the P12/Iginla curve for some reason. You think that would be one of their best sellers. Maybe by the fall there will be some out there.

Thanks. Having a lower flex than advertised is one thing. But what worried me from this thread is the report that the blades are soft. That doesn't sound like a good thing.

It's personal preference, some guys like soft blades, like Briere for example:

Most people like stiff blades though, myself included.

Ithink that curve is probally on back order. I have the MV-5R in 80flex BP12. great stick

Decided to try the X:50 for now. (strangley, my lhs couldn't order the pattern I wanted for the going rate, but TH could. but that's getting even farther off topic) I'll still keep my eyes open for a Miken in the future.
