hybrid synthesis vs. woodie r2

Recommended Posts

im debating which blade would offer be better preformance + durability. I have alreayd purchased a sakic hybrid sythesis balde, but it feels quite heavy, and i have been referred to the r2 blade. Has anyone used these before?

I think the feel of the R2 woodie is far superior to the hybrid, though the Easton may last a bit longer. Honestly I haven't used both long enough to worry about durability. I sold my Synth after a couple of uses and I onlyuse the shaft with the R2 in emergencies.

I haven't used a synth hybrid, but I have used a standard Hybrid and the R2 Wood, and if the standard blade is the same performance/durability-wise as the tapered, then I'd suggest not going with the hybrid. The wood R2 feels really nice. I didn't think that the hybrid was very durable, but I use it on concrete, so I guess that makes a difference. I can affirm though that the R2 lasted way longer than the hybrid when I used it.

really? can someone post links or pics of a bauer wood tapered blade?

They used to be on the Bauer website and now none of the products that were on there in the spring are there. None of the Vapor sticks and shafts are there, they have the Tri Flex sticks and the old Vapor gloves advertised. WTF? Trust me they do make tapered wood blades. A lilttle help anyone?
