GoWings85 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 My Men's team has a tournament this weekend. Possibility of five games in three days...four games for sure. Any tips on staying fresh all weekend and in between games? Saturday's schedule is pretty tight as we have two games 1 1/2 hours apart. It's been AWHILE since this kind of event ;)

Scoobersti 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 half of our team drank beer in between games couple of weekends ago when we were in a tournament. Some of our guys took short naps and rested. We only had one day when we played two games in one day though.

Esa_10 1 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 I like the back to back games. A long layoff in between tourny games gives you too much time to drink beer - then you're half pissed for the next one.put back a bottle of water and gatorade right after you first game (in the room). Gummer12 134 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 Stay away from the beer. Gatorade and Water during the game. Plenty of rest on Friday night, keep the partying to a minimum. Grab a subway or Jimmy Johns for lunch..I'm not sure if there are any of those near Wings stadium or not, if you're heading to the Labatts Blue tourney, which i assume you are. I have a team from my rink heading down, so I Shouldn't really be telling you all of this :D MSH member J-Mo aka Crazy Legs is going to be there, He'll have the black 8K and Bauer SDP's. Just have a good time, and if you're sure you're not going to play Sunday, Save the partying till Saturday night.

I'm a die-hard Wings fan, but I live in PA. So far there will be 4 games minimum (I have a league game Sunday night). The championship is on Sunday at 12:30 if we make it. JR97 2 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 We played 5 games in 2 days a few months ago for a tourny. What worked for me was an energy drink or cliff shot before the 2nd game and 3rd game of the day. I didn't get blitzed the night before, so I was fine for the 1st morning game. The 2nd day 1st game was brutal for the first few shifts from semi-blitz and just plain worn out, but I was good to go by the 3rd or 4th shift. Drinking was the 1st priority of the tourny for most of my team, though.
