Strongest Sticks...

Recommended Posts

Im sick of having sticks/blades snap after only a few times. Just today, I think I got a good 9-10 slapshots/one timers out of a brand new blade before it broke. I don't think it would break if I didnt take so many one timers (thats what kills it the most) but I dont want to adjust my game for a stick.

Anyone have any good experiences with any durable sticks?

Seriously though, it has more to do with your technique than anything. Don't catch so much ice on your slapshots or one-timers.

I use a tps blade/shaft combo. This is the first time one of my sticks has lasted one day.

Ive gotten very good life out of some composites (especially rbk 7K), but was curious who here has had a good experience with a long lasting stick? please keep em coming.

I have TPS shafts that are going on three years of fairly steady use.

This makes it sound like you've had a similar problem before.

ONE95 hands down... the blades stay stiff (bc they are basically the same technology as the Mission Pro Stock) and they don't over-torque like the TPS blades... I used the XN10 forever and LOVED the shaft's ability to transfer the power but the blades would DIE so fast. I have since used ,CNT's and SE's and combo's of shafts and blades... but nothing compares to the performance this ONE95 produces with the durability as well... not much of a compromise... the biggest thing is it's not a true one piece so you lose a little performance out of that... but really... I have skated with it 3-4 times a week for almost 2 months and I love it... I will let you know as I go... but I plan on buying a set of these... (4-6 sticks) for next season and I am planning on playing at University of Michigan's Dearborn campus Club team (D1 Club).

I have to agree, my one95's are very durable. The blades are very stiff still even after quiet a bit of use. Not to mention they shoot better then anything out there imo (except maybe the s17). The problem is Easton blades go soft relatively quickly in my experience. If i had to "make" my own stick with different components(you could do a two piece but it just doesn't feel or shoot the same for me) I would use an Easton shaft and a Warrior blade. Those blades are really durable but the Warrior shafts are like tooth picks, I snapped a 3 dolo's in the shaft in a total use of about 25 times combined(I am also very hard on my sticks). But the blades never wore out or got soft in the least. Like anyone else i have also used Easton sticks, and the shafts seem to wear pretty well, even if the Warriors might be lighter.

However in my experience with the XXXX and now the One95 I believe that Bauer has the best combo for durability that is in a OPS form.

Just my 2 cents.

Edit: I also used a 7k sickick for a long time before it broke, that stick and shaft lasted a long time(6+ months) and didn't seem to wear out, even if the grip fell off quick haha.

I've gotten some pretty long use out of a batch of composite Harrow/Christian blades I got for cheap. 9+ months of twice a week beer league before I broke the first one and even then it felt stiff, it just cracked after I blocked a puck. I take slapshots pretty often, but not usually one-timers.

I can't really help with the shafts. I like to experiment with different broken OPS's so they get swapped out frequently. If you can live with the weight increase, an Aluminum shaft should last a while.

I've had great luck with RBK 7K's. But tried the Dolomite's and so far so good. They bolth are great sticks.

if you want just durability get the warrior bentley lol

but for durability and performance like everyone else says the one95, warrior dolo, maybe even the new rbk 10k but 7k was a tank for me for sure

Synergy super tough (st) are just that. Super tough. One95's are one hell of a stick too.

I agree however, its most likely the fact your striking too much ice with your slapshots, a guy i played hockey did this and broke a lot of sticks tell he fixed his technique.

Easton Synergy ST's. Absolute Bombproof.

Toss in another vote for the ST. I think it's a great combo of price, durability, and performance. I bought one about 3 months ago and it's as strong as ever.

Maybe I had a lemon, but my One95 broke the first game I used it in. :/ I've had bad luck with Warrior Dolomite's as well. The blade wouldn't stay together for more than a month for me.

I love my one90's. If you can find one in your flex and curve i would highly recommend it. I love the feel of the stick and the tactile grip, plus they are absolute tanks. And for the price you can get them for now... Even better!

I need to back this, and I normally bash Eastons for their lack of durability. My 1st gen ST is still in top shape after heavy use...the thing is even reluctant to let the paint chip.

I do love my Dolomites though, and have had no bad experiences yet.

Heh good to know, I lament that my final original synergy finally died last fall, I had 2 of them, they lasted through 3 years of high school hockey and 3 years of rec league play at college and broke finally during a men's league game. Neither my Vapor XXV nor U+ survived a season of twice a week rec league. I consider them worth the price of admission I think, it's just too bad I cant get easton at whole sale or less like I can with Bauer/CCM.

Yeah I've heard mixed reviews of the One95 as well. For some it's insanely durable, and others it was barely better than the OStick. But I've had my Dolo for 2 years now, and It's still holding up very well. Only had my ST for a couple months, but so far so good. I'm a bit worried about the ST because of the reviews I've heard of Easton blades having poor durability...

I vote for the Synergy ST as well. I love that stick. I wish they made it in a Drury pattern. When I last looked, they didn't offer it. I haven't been able to use them since I switched from a Sakic pattern.

guys, its not my technique, I dont hit the ice any more than 3-4 inches behind the puck. I have a very good slap shot (imho), just been on a really bad string of breaking sticks of late. Thanks a lot guys for the responses!
