Switching from 85 flex to 100 flex

Recommended Posts

Been using a 85 flex for a very long time. Was going to try a 100 flex cause I figure I'm strong enough. I was wondering if anyone else has tried this and what did they find to be different? How was the wrist shot different etc.

Any feedback/thoughts are welcome.

Your slap and snap shots will become more powerful I'm not sure about wrist shots because they all all about loading but if you are strong enough to whip a 100 flex then maybe they will get better. What kind of stick will you be using ?

i went from a 65 the original synergy to a 100 flex Synergy Sl. my shots got so much harder my wrist shots were a little bit faster with the higher flex and i was able to get a nice loud bang off the boards with my slapper (with the sl) now im going up to 102 -112 because im afraid my sticks are going to snap if i take shots. the legitly look like the nhl. and im only playing high school hockey lol

I've was using 75 flex for a few years, then went back to my fav 85, and a few months ago I started using 95 flex shafts/OPS. I've noticed that my slappers and snappers have a lot more zing, and my wristers havent suffered much. I did take my 85 flex to the rink the other day to play with, and even though I could still pick the corners with snap and quick shots, I found that the slappers were just fluttering all over the place. It could be me, but I felt that the shaft was a little 'lagging' on the downswing.

Sweet stick but it's a low kick point stick wristers are better with mid flex shafts it's more of a stickhandling stick then a shooting stick. But if it works for ya then power to ya!!

There's no guarantee that he will be able to get the flex out of the 100 flex on slappers.
