New Girdle

Recommended Posts

I currently have the Tackla Girdle. Some of the seams holding the pads in place have come undone and I'm considering buying a new one. I just noticed that CCM and Eagle came out with a new girdle and was wondering what people think of those. Also, I have heard good things about the Bauer MBP8, which you can still find online. Is the Bauer MBP8 basically the same as the One90 and One 95.

I used the MBP8 girdle in high school and I didn't really like it. The kidney pads came up ridiculously high and it started to fall apart after a little while. It wasn't terrible, just not worth the hundred bucks I paid for it. I'm more comfortable in pants now anyways.

And from the looks of it, the MBP8 is exactly the same as the one95 girdle.

I was not too impressed by the One90 girdle (essentially the same as the MBP8 and One95). Every time I played I found a new spot that was not as protected as I would have liked. I've heard good things about the Vapor XXXX power girdle. It's a bit bulkier, but still very lightweight.

Some NHL-ers use the MBP8.

I hurt my tailbone in it once.

Some thin padding folds down and falls out over time.

Just got a new Eagle girdle. Tried it on for a sec. Kinda tight (I normally wear size M in pants and size L in MBP8). Nice tailbone and hip protection. Lifght.

The pro strock RBKK 520 pants (or probably any higher end pants) woudl give me a better protection anyway.

Vaughn bought Tackla and Eagle.

They are must be continuing both brands. Look no further than Khabby's stick, Okposo's gloves, and Eagle gloves are definitely still being produced. Otherwise Khabibulin's stick would've been re-branded as Vaughn, and Okposo's gloves would've had EAGLE slapped on them.

ye that dude doesn't do much of a review (but you get a better look at the product if you have to order online)...he just reads the catalogue but sometimes he does mention this parts not as durable etc etc.
