Cracks in my One90 shins

Recommended Posts

I just noticed that the knees on both of my One90 shins have cracked. Will there be a significant safety hazard?

If I have to replace them, would the 07 6k's be comparable or better? I really like the comfort in them and felt they protected the front on my shins and knees well. The side and back of the leg padding wasn't great, although I'm not sure any others are better as I don't remember my last pair.

Any help is appreciated.

Where did they crack? I heard they were prone to crack in around the cap area. Reebok 9k's are still around and have good all around protection, although not as flexy as the one90s. Maybe the One95's, but the back and side leg will be the same..

try and find 9k's or even 8 at left over prices, there the best shins on the market. Most of the pro's are in the rbk/jofa pads and have been for years, there just heads and shoulders above everything in protection and they dont feel bad at all either.

Yeah they are on the caps. I would like to get another top end pair it it's necessary to replace but dont want to spend more than 60.

Rbk's are alot wider than One90's though.

I can't stand the Rbk's and love the "closer" to the leg fit of the One90's, so they might not be the best transition if you really like the fit of your Bauers.

Patrick67 has a valid point. The fit on the One 90's is a lot closer to the leg than the RBK pads and they're a very nice and comfortable pad. In my opinion though RBK shins are by far the best on the market and as previously mentioned are used by most of the pro players. They are also fairly comfortable and just sit farther from the leg. If you can find an older pair on clearance they would be an excellent purchase. (6K's or higher model ) I recently picked up a pair of Jofa 8077's for less than half their original price. I had RBK's but found them a bit wide compared to the original Jofa shins so I jumped at the chance to grab them because they are a slimmer pad.

If you still prefer a slimmer fit you might want to look into some Easton shins on clearance like the S9 or S7's which are still a fairly decent shin pad.

Thanks again for the replies. I'm going to try the 9k's. I did like the One90's but I can't honestly say that I can remember anything different, and I'm really looking for the most protection possible.
