FatAndSlow 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 I play roller about 4 times a week. Lately I've been getting pain in my hip/thigh area. I stretch before and after I play. I feel pain on the front of my hips above the thigh and on the outisde part of my hips. Will weight lifting help? If so, what exercises should I do? What stretches should I do? Currently I do a lunge stretch and the "frog" stretch. Thanks in advance
greech 4 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 Lifting can actually be bad. It's the hip flexor IIRC, and you really should get some specific stretches and exercises to help it or it will only stay and get worse.
L0uie 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 your hip flexors are too tight esp playing hockey 4x a week, focus on stretching specify on that area like greech said and do some hip mobility work as well.

epstud74 24 Report post Posted July 3, 2009 I have the same problem and being 230+lbs doesnt help out a whole lot. I try to stretch before and after ice sessions. Right now I'm just cutting back for about a month in hopes of relieving the pain and allowing the hips to heal.
