Warrior Bully vs Bauer One75 vs TPS R8

Recommended Posts

I've been using R8's the last couple months and am thinking about going back to something tighter fitting and maybe a bit more protective. The One75's feel great but I'm wondering if they'll be protective enough.

The One75's feel pretty comfy but are a little limiting in the cuff, and the slim design makes me a bit nervous. The Bully's are really comfortable and priced very well, but I'm concerned the lower price means they are skimping on something.

Any feedback?

i love the bully glove personally, its so loaded...people around mentioned the nylon is a bit cheaper...but for that price its hard not to get it IMO

edit: i just noticed the new bacterial thing is the same as the AK 27 pro glove so you don't have to worry about that part

I spent a good 20 minutes trying on a bunch of gloves today, mostly looking at these two, and I'm thinking I'll get the One75's. The Bully's definitely fit a lot better than my R8's, tighter and don't slide off/down, but they still have a bit of play. The One75's are really tight but seem to loosen up and I think that's about as close to my ideal fit as I can find. They both have great mobility, the Warriors look a lot nicer, and they're a good deal cheaper too. But the Bauers seem a lot better put together, heavier duty, with stiffer padding and more protection.

The only warrior that I liked at all was the Kovy model, just not a fan of their gloves.

I had a pair of 07 Vector Pros that I liked, but they got the awful smell because they lacked antibacterial treatment. I mean really, really bad. Those things are on their last legs, and after repalming they were too loose. I haven't actually seen any CCM or RBK gloves in person in over a year, nobody around here carries them (which says something because I regularly visit 5 or 6 shops).

The R8's seem to be a solid glove, but I think they're just too big to be protective. I noticed when I close my fingers around the stick, they'd pop out from under the padding, which is why I think I got nicked good on the slash. They do have plastic inserts and pinky protection. Also, the palm is so big that it's starting to bunch up when shooting and causing blisters.

The One75's seem like they're plenty protective, mainly because my fingers aren't exposed, but they also seem well put together. The Bully's really look like they're good quality though, they fit better than the Franchise, all nylon, have plastic inserts, the palm isn't super fancy but the material seems good, and they have the antibacterial lining. They do look really sweet too. But I noticed even with the tighter fit that my fingers were still sliding around in the glove.

As far as fit, the One75's are tight for sure, but the floor model was broken in a bit more than the new pair, and it felt just a hair tight, but otherwise really good. The Bully's start out fitting just a hair loose, and seem to loosen up a bit more compare to the new pair. The R8's feel like they're 14" gloves, my hands are just swimming in them, and they're always on the edge of falling off.

4-Rolls are out of the question, the 13" glove is even bigger than the R8's, the 12" is a better fit, but then the fingers are too short and the cuff doesn't reach my wrist at all. Others I tried on were Easton S11's and S17's (good glove but fingers and palms were too long/deep), Eagle PPFi's (amazing feel but too loose in the bottom palm and just too much money), One95's (similar to One75's but even more broken in feeling, a good bit more money though), Graf G700's (great fit and very light but seemed to lack protection), Vapor XXV/XXXX (good fit overall but poor wrist movement with the cuff), and some others I can't remember.

You really didnt like the vector 10's? There the only non traditional style glove i would even consider, i had them on for a game and i liked the fit of them quite a bit. Then again, i have quite a bit bigger mits then you. A 14 franchise fits tight

I loved them, they were just a bit big and started too fall apart and smelled awful.

The kicker is I have tiny hands that are between 12 and 13 inch gloves, and I usually go for the tighter fitting 13's than looser fitting 12's.

Oh. I dont really know much about the non traditional gloves as far as fit or protection, only ever tried out the original one 90's and the vector 10's, the one90's were too tight for my liking.
