Graf (sidas) heat moldable insoles

Recommended Posts

Here are pictures of mine after about a year's use. It may be hard to tell from the photos, but they mirror every bump and shape of my arch on the bottom of my feet. Also, they cup my heel nicely allowing it to sink back into the skate.

i was just looking at graf's new website and it's a lot better than their old one. anyway here's my insole question.....what's the difference between their step-in insole, hockey insoles and the hockey pro insoles? the hockey pro insoles look similar to the hockey insole except for color.

Mine are of the Custom Hockey Pro variety, but I'm not sure the difference between those and the Custom Hockey foot beds. Materials perhaps? I dont know..

the pro's are a lot stiffer than the hockey insoles.

the step in's aren't custom to your foot. it will support your arch but not fill in the spaces that a custom would.

Got the same insoles in my skates and I swear by them. Money well spent.

Agreed, got myself a pair done last month, skates fit like sneakers now :)

Where can I order these? I went to the Sidas website and they don't have a dealer in the US. Tried the web but I can only find UK dealers. Thanks!

AFAIK you can't order them. You will have to go to a Graf LHS who sells and fits them. They need to take the imprint of your foot and heatmold the insoles for you.

Not something you can do yourself.

I tried a heatmoldable insole that was made for running and it was just too big (height wise), these look just as thin as the green/black graf ones I've got now. Is there anywhere that sells these online?

nice, they remind me of the intuition liners used in ski and snowboard boots, which have the 'insole' integrated into the liner, so after you get them heat molded, they conform pretty well to the shape of your foot.

do you wear socks or go barefoot normally in your skates? i wonder if it makes much of a difference when you get these molded.

I was a little reluctant to drop $100 on these, especially when I thought my Superfeet were great... I finally did it, and I am kicking myself for not doing it earlier. It feels great to have a insole that truly fits.

It did take me a couple skates to adjust from the Superfeet, but I find my edge-control has become better since using these. My advice to anyone planning on getting these is to make sure that the person knows what they are doing, lest you get stuck with a pair of insoles that dont fit as they should.

What is the point of buying these online???

I presumed you could heat mold them yourself?

As I mentioned earlier, it was quite an involved process when I got my insoles done.

They used the same device as seen in this video at the 1:19 mark to do it:

you went through this process for just the insoles?

Not the whole skate part obviously. But all in all it took about 1/2 hour to get the insoles done.

standing on the air bladder while getting impressions made of my foot? Yes.

Dont knock it until you've tried it

i'm not. i just wanted to make sure you were getting just the insoles and not skates. i have graf 704 but i dont think anybody in philly can do that custom job. 100 bucks?
