eric42434224 1 Report post Posted July 20, 2009 The holder's white.Too much flex and poor hardware as well as the steel is the downfall of the RBII. Switching to their standard runner does improve things a bit.Well I can make the holder black. And as far as the issues with the RBII......in my case ignorance is bliss. bigdaddytool 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2009 ive skated in easton all my life and thought the annoying clicking and bolt loosening was part of all holders...until i stepped into a Vapor 40 w/LS holders. those things are tanks. The Easton SE16 boots have been re-assigned to roller hockey duty
eric42434224 1 Report post Posted July 20, 2009 I use solid steel and lock tight on the hardware. Havent heard a click for one year.
cptjeff 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2009 I use solid steel and lock tight on the hardware. Havent heard a click for one year.I've been meaning to get loctite, I just tighten them up each time I sharpen them and have no issues. I don't even mind the parabolic steel. Haven't had clicking for ages.RBII aren't really that bad. All they need is a little loctite or a little bit of occasional attention.

eric42434224 1 Report post Posted July 21, 2009 Yup. Now that they can be all black, and IF the durability issues have been resolved, I think that it is at the top of my list when I need new skates.
Hooah4 12 Report post Posted July 21, 2009 Agreed, it looks sharp but time will tell if the continuing saga of durability will continue. Every year Easton says they've fixed the durability issue..........

Every year Easton says they've fixed the durability issue..........The durability has improved. Some of the improvements on the s17 were on my custom pro s15s and they are still in amazing shape after a year....and i am 6'-0" an 220 lbs. I would like to see how the retail s17s hold up for a while. Ihope the do well as I like the performance of the s15.

alexhockey83714 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2009 sweet! nice close up. thanks for posting that. those look awesome. so far i love my s17s with tuuks; just a bit stiff but its feels better with every game. the only thing is that i recommend is putting some clear or black protect toe on the toe cap though. i've already noticed that the rubber can be easily damaged. one coat and you're good to go!
