Should I be buying up Montreal sticks?

Recommended Posts

I just recently found out that Warrior bought Montreal sticks.

I use wooden Montreal sticks and they're the only sticks I prefer to play with. Do you think Warrior will continue the stick line or did they just buy out a competitor?

I'd buy 'em up now. Even if Warrior continued them, they'd probably rename them something like Big Woody.

lol, and getting back to the original question, tis better to be safe than sorry. If you buy a bunch now, you still have sticks, even if the line continues. Be safe and buy all of them

How long can a wood stockpile last, though? The older woodies I have all lost something over time. 5 yrs worth of stick might not be as great by the time you get to year 5.

I sence a 'morning wood' line coming, perhaps with some elaborate nymphogrip coating.

I did e-mail and asked if they had any plans to release Montreal sticks under the Warrior brand and they said not at this time. Shame.

I'm a hobbyist woodworker with some knowledge of wood expansion/movement/moisture etc.. Here a my 2 cents...

If you are gonna stockpile any type of lumber i would suggest the following:

1. keep it in a moisture/humitidy constant area... a garage or basement may not be the best idea because of seasonal changes

2. install some shelf brackets and lay them on the brackets, do not lay them on a shelf. the key is to allow airflow to reach all sides of the lumber equally

Let me know if you have any more questions
