2009-2010 Gear Sightings

Recommended Posts

Saw one or two of the Boston College players tonight in the national championship game wearing TotalOnes, or at least One100s. Had the gold heel, which matched the maroon and gold uniforms nicely. :D

So I guess not only the pros are getting access to them in advance.

College teams usually get sponsorship deals. They get to order custom and top stuff just like the pros. How much they order is determined by the school's budget, but they get access to the sweet new stuff. They won't be at the top of the priority list, but they'll get the gear before you and I.

Speaking of which, I really should see if they're selling off equipment where I am.... The women's team would probably have somebody with my skate size.

Actually, thinking of Bauer skates, anyone know if they're keeping a One90 based skate in the lineup? If they are, is that the 80 or 70?

There gloves bucket and pants? I think are reebok, probably protective sponsored too, but their twigs and skates are almost all bauer w/ some easton mixed in. They get team deals with multiple brands. Its kind of like the CHL wear they all wear ccm/rbk protective, but use easton/bauer twigs and skates.

especially for us Canadians...take those pricepoints and add $100 to them...that's what we'll need to pay probably <_<

Edit: anyone know what stick MA Bergeron is using tonite against the Leafs? isnt he a TPS guy?

It's a Winn-Well from what I could tell.

I find it odd that BC would get access to the newest Bauer skates seeing as they are with Reebok.

I would think skates are wide open due to the way skates fit. And I guess Bauer does give respect to teams of that stature to get something ahead of time. Well, its obvious as they were on the feet of some skaters.

Plus if I recall there are a few prospects that were playing in this game, I'm sure reps take good care of them too.

Damn working like that would be so stressful for sure and sleep deprived.. But on the other hand :P you get to work and see the chicago hawks everyday definitely a dream job.. but it kinda sucks something so little have to be fixed during intermission like seabrook and a little stitching falling out can hurt his game..

There's a reason a lot of guys call it N(o) H(ome) L(ife)

LOL at having to tape Ladd's sticks for a week. Terrible bet. On the other hand, I wonder what he got if the US won?

does anyone have any idea what stick pavel datsyuk is using now? Don't have time to get a picture atm, but its a reebok that is white/gray (hard to tell) which fades down to black. Maybe 11k?

Yes, not in his usual helmet.

That's the s9. Or are you commenting on that it is not his usual reebok helmet?

don't get missleaded it could be a 10k painted to look like a 7k... i find it hard to believe that pro's are using a lower end stick. these so called 7k are starting to be seeing more and more and some player have them in team color.

I heard from someone here that its a marketing tactic to expose the 7K more. If it is then I think its very clever. Reebok knows that ppl wont be able to afford as many high end sticks anymore so they decide to promote their midpoint sticks too. Ive also noticed more of these ~$100 midpoint sticks gaining mmomentum everywhere:

- This new 7K is ~ $120

- Bauer's X:40 is ~$100

- Sherwood's T90 is ~$130

Yes, not in his usual helmet.

he switched this season. Reebok last year, easton this year.

Rolston is in the s19 bucket though.

Gaborik switched mid season from easton to Bauer helmets.
