best ops/shaft for $130 CDN

Recommended Posts

im in the makret for a new stick, i shoot right im 5'7.5" 130lbs, and i was wondering what is the best OPS or Shaft i can purchase for about $130 give or take. i got a true1 for $120 but i havent gotten used to the length of it, and i dont want to mess the whip up, i love it the way it is, i just cant stickhandle. is there anything you can reccomend? how much are 1100s selling for now?

I'd just keep an eye out for some OPS going on sale around you and try them out. I think Nationals knocked down there RR prices again and I've seen Tri-core shafts on sale alot as well. The Tri-cores are really durable and give good performance from my experiences with them.

m-2's go for 129.99 at my lhs i think. the 85 flex ones are pretty sweet, but still not enough whip for me for wristers n snappers

Is that before tax or after? Where are you located? You probably won't be looking at any of the higher end ops's for $130 unless they're on closeout. It sounds like you have a preference for whippy sticks but Sportcheck is selling the Vector 100 ops for $80 if you can handle the ccm regular flex. It's slightly heavier than the 110 because of the fibreglass but I hear it's pretty good. I would also try looking around for regular TPS responses. They're most likely in the $150 range even on closeout but it is a great stick.

For shafts, a whip tri-core or redlite would be good choices. Cutting a stick down by a couple of inches doesn't drastically affect the stiffness. It doesn't make any sense to me to keep the stick the way it is just because of the flex and not being able to stickhandle. It's kind of like buying a porsche that you don't drive.

On a side note, does anyone know of any good tapered shafts for under $150CDN. I just broke my XV shaft :( and don't have the money to spend on another one. As for the original topic, Sportchek has V100's for 79.99, if there's one by you.

for the blade part...if you buy a shaft loll you need the blade!

i found the Vapor 1 OPS...pretty heavy and not that good and the Shaft is like 400g really heavy *SHIT* to me...but I was impress by the blade real composite...they look thanks good construction(i may give it a try) they are 20-30CND(canadian tire)

Vector V20...20CND i test it and wow these think is tank!!!i use it to play ice hockey and for asphalt outdoor hockey lol and after 5 months if use it still in excellent shape!!!

Nike Quest Appolo...34-44CND got nothing to said...

SO HERE THE RESULT...FOR OPS:

FYI: If anyone sees any tri-cores in a Whip flex LMK

A LHS here in Ottawa has some Tri-Cores in Whip flex (the white wood ones), but they're $149 CDN. You'd get burned on the exchange rate anyway, but FYI...

BTW Is TPS still making Tri-Cores?
