Bauer 4-roll VS Eagle PPF

Recommended Posts

i currently have a pair of 13" 4-rolls, i like them alot but i want a pair of PPFs. how do they compair in fit? like i wore 14" gloves until i got my 4-rolls. they fit bigger than most gloves. i was wondering like if i wore a 13 in the 4-rolls would i wear a 13 in the PPF? also i was looking at the glove customizer on hockeyshop, the pro gold colour how does it compair to the Pens gold on their gloves?

The fit will most certainly be tighter on the Eagles, but if you're going for custom gloves, you should be able to get any fit you want. Finger length on 13" 4-Rolls are the same as any other 13" glove, it's just the amount of room inside (gussets are huge) as well as the cuff that is different.

4-Rolls fit smaller so you will likely be a PPF=14', that would be my guess from trying them on. All depends on how tight you like the fit and everything but i would say try them on first. Definitely a different kind of feel.

I tried them all on including Franchise and i went with 40's, but i would of chose the 4 Rolls over the PPF. Its all personal preference.

The difference is simple: PPFs are way lighter than 4-rolls. My 4-rolls are 13" and fit great. My PPFs are 14" and fit every bit as well and comfy as the 13" 4-rolls. My PPFs have MSH2 gussets, not mesh. The PPF mesh gusset may stretch out over time, I'm not sure. The PPFs have stayed snug and the split fingers provide plenty of feel. The PPFs have been taking major sweat issues in the summer with no problems. The 4-rolls are an awesome glove but now they are like a training glove(more weight vs lighter PPFs in game situations) compared to the fit, feel, and lightness of the PPFs. At the end of the day, the only other difference is $$. 4-rolls are a great bang for the buck while if you have a some extra spare change, the PPFs (actually a bit less $ now) are worth the extra shekels.

IMO just trying on the PPF's in store compared to my current 13" 4-rolls. The 13" PPF felt a slight tad shorter and tighter than the 13" 4-rolls..trying on the 14" felt slightly bigger...so i'm probably a 13.5" if i had to go custom.

Other than the nice fit and feel and lightness of the PPF, I wasn't a big fan of the lock thumb (?) and how stiff it was. but overall nicely built gloves.

definitely try them on in store when you get a chance and play around with a stick with the gloves on

Yeah i felt the same way, The PPFi just seemed to small for some reason. Just the palm to finger ratio was hard to match up. Bauer seemed more natural for my hands.

Seems like the massive gussets on the 4 rolls make up for slight sizing difference.
