How important is flex?

Recommended Posts

Warrior Dolomite Shaft - 280 Flex. I'm not really sure what this is as it's not listed on the flex chart, I figured it to be a 95 flex or so.

Its actually about an 85. When warrior flexes go up, they actually go down.... according to the chart at least.

I knew it went down but it def feels more like a 95.

Warrior numbers are usually much, much more accurate than other manufacturers. I'm talking about the three digit numbers, not the industry standard numbering.

Agreed.

Actually they typically put the standard measurement on the label inside with the exact flex rating. I have a 260 flex that inside the label is listed at 92 flex, I believe.

Mine is labeled 280 inside too. I guess I'm just used to other companies flex ratings. Another reason I wish they were all standardized.

Holy crap! Do you take slappers at all?

I do probably once or twice a game. I even shoot one-timers, but my stick doesn't come past my hip when shooting one-timers or slappers.

There's no point in the windup coming above your waist no matter what.

I agree very much about the one-timers. Doing that helps me a lot accuracy wise, even at a little shot power cost. But there are many ways to look at flex, Brett Hull said to use the whippiest stick you could find for heavy loading, but some people think heavy loading slows down release, I think Patrick Kane would go into that camp, I think a part of it is just personal preference though.
