Epro holders on Bauer skates?

Recommended Posts

Ive seen Epro's being replaced by Tu'k's often on CCM/RBK skates, but we rarely see the opposite.

Epro's on a Bauer skate.

Has anyone here done this?

I really love my Epro's with X-Blades on them, so my plan is to slap on the Epro's on my new X60's!

I had a pair of RBK 5k's, and while I wasn't that thrilled with the skate fit ( for my feet) I did like the ePro. Curious to know how hard of a conversion it would be to go from Lightspeeds to ePro.

Not that I want to try it, I do like my Lightspeeds.

Switching to different holders is never "hard" its just a matter of having to drill more holes than the boot originally had.

The new holes shouldn't do anything to the skate. One option is to put new holes in the holder to match the boot holes, that was done on my Vector Pros when I had Custom + put on to replace EPros.

I would guess that as long as the new holes didn't overlap the old holes it would be okay? Not an expert but have heard of cases where a skate tech had to epoxy old holes and re-drill because the new hole would overlap the old one. Fact or fiction?

it happens. a shop/employee who gives a damn should be able to put any holder on any skate most likely without having to drill over already done holes. Not guaranteeing every size & holder combo but it should work without incident 9 of 10 times.

I've seen lots of guys with Easton skates replace the Razor Bladz with E-Pros and Cobras. Tuuks are by far the most popular replacement holders though because most of the players in the pro leagues have skated on Bauers for most of their hockey careers and Bauers remain the most popular skate of all the brands. I personally like Tuuks as well but have never had problems with the Razor Bladz on any of my Easton skates and would have no problems replacing them with the same.
