Finally time for new skates....

Recommended Posts

i bought the one75s a year ago and havent been more upset. it is most likely due to the fit of the skate but in a year i already have multiple rivets rusting out. i keep good care of my equipment so its not from leaving htem in a bag. the ee width is still too narrow for my foot but i know i would have to go custom to get a wider skate. i highly recommend to stay away from these skates if you have some sort of a wide foot.

Do you take the footbeds out of your skates?

yeah and i hang dry the footbeds on clothespins. its just that the skates have no ventilation. im tempted to drill holes in the outsole just to help keep them from getting soaked so easily.

They are a different fit. They may both feel okay walking around on the LHS carpet but one is likely going to be better for you on the ice. If the fit was thrown out the window I'd say the One75's because there is less to break. How many pumps did it take to get a good heel lock?

When used properly and looked after (only ever having air in the pumps when your foot is in them), breakage is very minimal. Ive heard of the one90's having a lot of problems, arn't the one75's near identical?

Also to call 9k pumps heavy is pretty foolish if you ask me. They might have the weight of a dime more then any other pair, if that.

By the way, the g9's are the same fit as the 709.

The One75 is the ONe90 minus the Tendon Guard Breakage and it doesn't take forever to break in like the One90's.

And to SM the Mesh of my one75s breaths pretty well I have been skating in them scince the came out and have had 0 problems.

(I skate 5-6 times a week)

wierd, i guess my feet just sweat way too much. maybe i'll resort to barefoot instead of my sanisport socks.

It could just be that I am really light and live in an area where equipment drys reallllly fast.

I love the 9K's, i am on my second pair and the pump is a nice feature and i only pump them about 7 times to help support the ankle. I can use these without pumping them and they do have enough padding for my feet in the ankle area. I tried on Bauer skates before but my feet just dont fit bauer. Good luck with your decision

Obviously I am talking about a completely different skate here but I remember when I took a shot off the ankle in a first gen 5k. I could not walk for a week. That was in Peewees too.

that could be it, or it could be the quality issues that nbh has. maybe thats why im still kicking myself for not just staying with graf.

Never had a better pair of skates then my first pair of Grafs.

i got a pair of grafs for $40 after trading in my original 705's (4 years old and beat to absolute crap). i picked up the same model just in almost new condition (minimal stitching pulls and light visibility of toes, im guessing they were used either by a person who doesnt sweat or barely used). i just need to get them profiled and i'll be all set with a quality skate for alot less than i paid for the one75s.

when i bought my one75s, i was really looking for flexlites but no one near me carries flexlites in stock so i was screwed basically. im not buying a skate online without trying it on unless its the same exact skate i already own.
