Help with blades, unique situation from most threads

Recommended Posts

I've been playing ice hockey 2 years, shooting right handed. I've been using mostly Drury clones. After 2 years, lots of practice my puck handling just didn't feel like it should so I bought a cheap lefty stick and have been using it off and on, so many things feel so natural with this stick. I also never felt comfortable putting weight on my left foot for slapshots not matter how much I forced it, once I used this crap wooden lefty slapshots feel awesome. I've decided to go ahead and buy a decent blade for my XXX Lite and Dolomite. With that in mind I don't want to spend much on a new blade also I'm looking for cheap blades which leads me to the Warrior Pro stock stuff on hockeymonkey.

Which one of these is most likely a Drury and should I even care considering I'm switching? I've never been a huge toe curve fan and I can't see that changing no matter which side I shoot from.

Thanks for your time.

Was it the feel of the wood stick that made you better at stickhandling or the curve?

Oh, nevermind, I saw you switched from right to left handed.

You can go here and search for the names of the curves to see how they look.

One of the few good things about HM -- they show you the blade. Check out these vids. I don't think all blades are listed, but there have to be a couple Drurys in there.

try and find a pattern from the mission videos. since when do you look at a curve from the bottom of the blade?

It's a good way to see the curve without the loft skewing the view.

i find it easier from the other direction. especially with a toe curve. im looking for something comparable to the warrior dolo wensley, which went out of stock and the only retail pattern is a p10/shanahan (impossible to get in blade form for a normal price). the only resort is to stock up with mission brunette patterns but idk how i feel about them since the curve is hard compare from that angle.
