Graf Custom Fitting

Recommended Posts

Currently have Graf Ultra G35's, but would like to find a quality fitter for a pair of custom fit Graf's. My feet are, unfortunately, about 1/2 size larger left v. right, not unusually shaped, medium arch, medium width, narrow heel. The current G35's work fine, except that the toe cap is somewhat narrow and 1 skate is just under 1/2 size short. Tried streching, punching, etc., but still not a totally satisfactory. Custom seems a desirable, but costly, solution.

All the lHS in metro NYC area I have spoken with, do not have experience with Graf Custom. They offer to "try" and work it out, but this is not acceptable. Looking for a quality shop, with experience in Graf Custom fitting, options, etc. to work with.

Has anyone gone down this road? Interested to hear about the process, where, when and with whom?

if you find a quality shop on long island/boroughs (-the bronx) let me know. not one store here will bake a skate before purchase which sometimes screws a customer over if it is not fitted properly.

2nd west side stick and skate. but if you don't mind venturing out a bit farther onto long island, one of the ferraro brothers who works out of iceworks supposedly has a very good rep for fitting graf.

if it's Joe Ferraro, he is the pro rep for Graf. He would definitely be the best person to get to do it.

would Definitely recommend West Side Skate & Stick ... I'm planning to go back to them this winter for custom G7s and I'll be driving from southern NJ / northern Del.

Alex at player's choice pro shop out of Rock Ice in Dunellen, NJ has a good rep around here for doing grafs, too. I saw a bunch of the pairs he had done for people during last hockey season, and they were pretty sweet.

I thought you were talking about Chris and Peter Ferraro

Joe is the other brother. Their family owns Plaza Sports on Long Island

yup, unless there is another brother besides those 3, it's joe. apparently he does fittings out of both plaza sports(is that the one way out towards the eastern end of the island?) and iceworks.

I think Ray Ferraro(Chicken Parm) is the eldest Brother, just kidding. I bought my retail G35 there but it waaaaay out on the north Shore of Long Island but their retail prices are much better then West Side. I'm sure their Pro-Stock/Custom Order prices would be cheaper then West Side but your gonna have to make at least 2 trips there.

There's one in Rocky Point for sure and I think one out by the Hamptons.
