Looking for reallllly cheap jersey set

Recommended Posts

Me and my buddies want to sign-up for a tournament in the area in the open class, but none of us have two sets of jerseys (Dark and light). I looked on hockey monkey and they have jerseys for 13$-14$ but 15 in each set, plus they dont come with numbers so i would have to get them numbered at my LHS store and we are starting to look at something thats in the 500$USD-600$USD range (Im from Canada) Which is starting to get pricy for something that will be used for its main purpose of only 3-4-5 games. Theres always the option of getting some sponsors but this isn;t a huge popular event that will generate alot of interest. Anyone have any hook-ups for really cheap basic jerseys Help a brother out.

Thanks Michael

Is there a way to put heat transfer numbers on yourself?

If so, use as many single digit numbers as you can.

They dont have to be all that big either.

You can buy heat transfer paper at your local office supply store and use your own computer printer.

That should be fine for 5 games.

Stay local and you can avoid the added cost of shipping.

Solid colour practice jerseys at Canadian Tire or PIAS (new jerseys) run $15 or so. Screened numbers are another $2 per jersey. If you go to a local team shop, they'll probably throw in a quantity discount.

If you're sure you won't use them again, you could sell them after the tourney to recover some of the cost. When my beer league team got new jerseys we sold the old ones on eBay as a set and netted ~$425.

Someone actually bought your old beer league jerseys for $425. I wouldn't want to wear anyones old gear even if it is only the jersey that has been washed.

Do you install new toilet seats after someone else has used it? Probably not.

So you're OK putting your bare ass on something that had someone else's bare ass on it while having a bowel movement?

But a used...yet washed...jersey over undergarments and pads is a no go?

I am not a huge fan of used gear if I can help it. But a jersey isnt one of the things I mind being used.

It's no different than the 5-year-old house league jerseys we wore as kids. I think a lot of Minor Hockey Associations buy new each year now, though.

A few years ago I was on a Men's team that bought its jerseys from a MHA in Wisconsin that changed its colours and didn't need the old jerseys. If they fit and they're cheap, why wouldn't you save some money?
