Favorite Equipment to shop for?

That's cool, then maybe I can help you reduce your inventory and free up some cash so that you can go out and buy some more new ones. :D I'm just getting back into playing out again after not doing so for the last 10 years or so. I started playing in goal and loved it so much that any opportunity I had to jump on the ice, it was in goal.

Now I need to update a few pieces of my gear and I am open to anything, but sticks and gloves do happen to be near the top of the list now. Problem is, I have no clue what I would like in terms of sticks and there are soooo many to choose from. I thought goalie gear was complicated... :o

And the worst part, from a hockey equipment buying perspective, is that I am currently relocated in Hong Kong where the equipment selection is very sparse and the prices are way out of whack. Thankfully I'll be going back to Toronto for a couple of weeks next month where I plan to do my player gear updating. Maybe I should start up a thread to ask for member's help on this.

oh i feel you, i was invited to play for the hk national ice hockey team (back when i lived there) but i declined since equipment was so damn expensive for like not even top of the line

When you're buying new stuff, what's your favorite thing to shop for and try on?

I think mine is gloves, just because there's so many options, and you pretty much tell in the store what is perfect for you and what isn't. Plus, once you find what model fits you best, it's totally acceptable to choose what colors looks best. Not that I care about things like looks...but, you know...

Skates kind of freak me out because you spend so much money, and you're never 100% sure how they're going to break in in a month. I love buying them, but there's always that "what if" voice in the back of my head.

Pants are the worst because they're not really "fun." You just drop money on them. At least shoulder pads let you feel like you're in some Mad Max dystopian future.

Skates is a love/hate thing. I'm shopping for some at the moment, but being in a country where trying on is not really an option it's really just educated guess work. I'm about to pull the trigger on skates, but will they be a half size big/small?? Will they be wide enough? Argh! But it's still fun :)

I love shopping for and trying out skates. My second favourite is gloves and then shoulder pads. Sticks are really low on my list because I'm pretty settled years ago what the best curve for me was.

Jerseys?

Sticks, skates , gloves and helmets. I love to come home and get a new stick ready or take the logos off a helmet, mount a cage and take off the ear things, also putting white/black earloops (opposite of helmet color) on it.
