Question about pitch skate.

Recommended Posts

Long time no see... :D

So, after my first ice session,I just notice that my one of my skate blade broke yesterday. So, I'm doing a new contour.

When I switched from T'blade to TUUK LS2, i remember I had to get a good forward pitch. But now I'm on 9K with E-PRO holder.

Do I still need a forward pitch or the E-pro is similar to t'blade?

Thank guys!

The E-Pro blade will be a relatively neutral or almost flat contour. If you want a more forward pitch you'll either have to go to a LHS and have them contour the blade to a forward pitch or put heel lifts in to give you more of a forward stance. Either way will work.

My skate are already at the LHS. I might call them tomorrow to ask for a little bit of forward pitch. I never did a heel lift.

If your having them contoured to a forward pitch, a heel lift can give your even more of a forward pitch if thats what you desire. Some guys prefer heel lifts because you aren't taking off any steel from your blades when your getting them contoured. It's an individual preference. Heel lifts also give you a quick fix if you need to make minor adjustments to your forward lean, it's great for guys like me who like the( on your balls of your feet) feel of Graf skates.

hey duch how goes it.

just a quick question for you. what size heel lifts are you running in your grafs?

the guy at my local hockey shop (hockey experts) told me i should be putting in a 1mm heel left. that would put me between the forward lean of the grafs and the neutrality of the ls2 holder...

thanks in advance :D

I don't believe he has heel lifts on his grafs, but that he likes the feel of the forward pitch of grafs, and gets heel lifts on other skates to match it.

i actually liked these alot for the time i was on missions. ive had every pair of my skates contoured since ive been 12, this is the quickest way to contour a skate plus it gives you a pretty deep forward/backward lean depending on how you set up the pitch.

ah okay. thanks for the reply. i have been meaning to put LS2s on my skates but still havent done so. I am so worried about screwing the skates up. i think i am going to stick to the cobra's. ive debated myself a bit about this. i might just get a tiny bit of a Dman grind on them to sit me back more.

thanks again for your help guys. :D
