Kovy_Ribs_Fedo 3 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 I won a item on Ebay by error, so it's an item I don't want to pay for. What can happen if I don't pay for the item?
kosydar 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 You get negative feedback. I guess if the item is worth a lot, the seller could always take you to small claims court.
jay 1 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 If you won an item on eBay you're responsible for paying for it. The right thing to do is to pay for the item and resell it assuming it was something you didn't really want. If that's indeed the case, why did you bid in the first place? CAINE 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 Nothing is going to happen to your credit report. They're just talkin' smack. Smack your brother and have him pay up or accept the fact you'll get negative feedback for him being stupid. <_<

RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 I know it is too late now, becasue the auction is ove, but I know that you can reneg (SP?) on a bid. I was showing a friend of mine how Ebay works and we bid on something he wanted, then we re-read the description and it was a US only shipping thing. I wrote the guy a note (using "ask a question") and explained that we didn't realize it was US only until after we bid. He took the bid off and rolled it back to the last high bidder. Mind you...you guys won the auction, so that option doesn't apply...so yeah, pay and try to re-sell it.
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted July 15, 2005 Now I am in the opposite situation as Kovy was. I have sold 2 items, to the same guy, and he hasn't responded. Payment was due wednesday, he won the Item a week ago. I've sent 2 invoices, and 2 E-mails now. What happens when I take it up with Ebay? I would hope it comes off his CC and I am funded, because he was the only bidder and theres no garauntee if I re-list, it will sell. Also, I don't think its fair that I pay the listing fees again when its been sold. Just curious how they will handle this and what will happen?
vivaotravez12 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2005 eBay and Paypal screw their customers in so many ways, Paypal just settled a class action lawsuit with a similar matter. As to what to do, if it were me, I'd go ahead and pay, then take the ass to court for the threats. Or, if you're willing to accept the feedback, just ignore it altogether, and add a follow up comment explaining the negative. If you buy the item, just go ahead and resell the item a bit cheaper, you may have to take a loss, but, well, it's all up to you.Eazy:If you both mutually agree not to follow through with auctioon, you're eligible for credits for your fees. Give him a little more time, maybe something happened that can easily be understood. But, eventually, file a non-paying report with eBay. Should also be able to get your money back or to relist for free.
AtlantaThrashers01 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2005 i had a similar problem.....if you could try to find any faults that could blame not paying on the one who ur purchasing it from....such as the pictures arent of the real product, ect. The guy never responded to the e-mails after a month of given time, so my cousin contacted Ebay and the money was refunded the guy was force legally to Ebay for the fee's Ebay had to pay for and he was also kicked off Ebay without being able to resign under a new name. fatwabbit 93 Report post Posted July 18, 2005 Sometimes you have to check with the seller. I won an auction for a pair fo skates, at 0.01!!!. But the seller was being an ass, trying to ship it for $60, and previously he told me that shipping would only cost me $20. Anyway, i told him that the shipping was too expensive, and that i was not gonna pay for it. He said fine, and we just left it at that. no feedback, no money transfered... This must happen a lot to items I see that are ended then relisted very quickly.
