OK, from what Ive seen and herd around the forms,PHEW and the locker rooms is that a lot of guys like the big toe curves. What i don't understand is that why hasn't any company came out with a Toe curve blade available to the public in stores? I no that Bauer likes to listen to the player and improve there gear by doing that, so why haven't they came out with it yet? unsure.gif

We've discussed it several dozen times here. If they sold at retail a manufacturer would offer them. Every time a manufacturer has offered a toe curve, it has been one of their worst selling curves. A big part of the reason people like them now is because they can't get them at retail.

I'd consider the Kovalchuk a bit of a toe curve. Depends on what your definition of a toe curve is. Ballistik offers a toe curve

I forgot about warrior and the kovalchuk. The problem there is that very few dealers stock it and even fewer people buy it. Ballistik is not a significant player in the market.

I guess it all depends on where you're at. I can go to 2-3 LHS's nearby and find at least 3-4 Kovalchuk patterns on the display. I know Sportsworld in Eden Prairie has about 5-6 Kovy tapered blades. I do wish Warrior offered a Kovalchuk Ak27 blade, but I dont think they do. I'm not a huge fan of the Dolomite shaft compared to the AK27. Just a personal preference I suppose. As for Ballistik, you can find them at about 2-3 pro shops in the area, most notably Sports Diamond in Lakeville, but they're also a internet e-tailer, so I suppose that makes a difference, but overall I'd be hard pressed to find Ballistik products anywhere. I do know that I can order Ballistik sticks at a couple places, but they dont stock them though.

I'm guessing that the rarity of the Kovalchuk pattern has more to do with kids having a hard time w/the curve, so a lot of P88, Draper/Sakic and the usual are the staples of most pro shops.

Even the Kovalchuk retail and the Ballistic "toe" aren't exactly true toe curves. The closest thing to one in retail lately was the warrior Smyth curve and to the dismay of many they canceled that pattern :( .
