I tried on Flexlite 4.0 at the LHS today - my input

Recommended Posts

I spent a long time trying on this skate today. My current skates are Vapors XXV and I'm finding them a little too stiff. I have normal width feet, narrow heels, and NO arches, with the inside bone sticking out (always had to have this spot punched out). Shoe size is 9 and 1/2.

Tried on size 7D with Superfeet insoles. Fit was SO comfortable with good heel lock, not too much volume in forefoot, toe caps wider than the vapors. I would say I could start playing in them without baking.

HOWEVER, the lace bite was so bad on both shins! I found the felt tongue (with reenforced plastic) thin and flimsy. I wanted to buy this skate so bad, but the one flaw killed it.

Anyone have similar experience?

Uh... changing the tongue won't do anything if the boot doesn't fit.

He could have the whole thing done in solid Maltese Gel and Japanese Clarino and it still wouldn't work.

Honestly....Vapors fit more narrow high arched feet from what I know. Flexlites= wider thicker flat feet. I know opposites attract but I can see problems with your choice.

If you have a higher arch, chances are that the Vapors will fit you better. The Flexlites seem to be wider at the toes but not really all that deep IMO as far as material around the ankles and quarters
