I have only played ice, but i was just curious if its way easier to pull this off on inline surface? Because i was pretty amazed watching this vid.

If you go to a middle school inline hockey practice a good majority of kids can do this lax style stuff. As long as you have time to kill at the rink, you can figure it out. I think it's much more a generational thing than a skill thing. Obviously, you have to practice doing it, but I'm at a loss as to why you'd bother practicing it.

Itan also uses attack pads which makes it much easier to get a hold of the puck. He's applying pressure across the backhand side of the blade and then snapping it over as he spins.

on the related topic Vishi, Itan pulled that spinning backhand full speed at last years (08) Torhs Pro finals playing for PAMA Cyclones against the Mudcats, and popular story was that his team wouldn't let him back on the floor afterwards since they were up a few goals already and the Mudcats goalie was fuming. It apparently also led to a shoving match in the postgame handshake line.

I actually put a booming hit on someone doing that as he was coming from behind our net. I haven't seen him try it since then against anyone.

The guy played Jr A around where i live, i seen him play a few times. Hes pretty good on ice as well, put up about 85ish points in jr a tier 2.

I was playing a game a few months back and was on the D. You could see this guy at the back of the net, setting himself up for the Michigan... as he was reaching down I just burst towards him and pushed him over... our goalie was expecting the move to happen, but burst out laughing when he saw the other guy tumble over.

Maybe its just me, but showboating especially when you're already a few goals up is not something that I would encourage... same for soccer when you see guys doing all the fancy-smancy shit... pisses the other team off big time
